I'm not fond going into shopping malls for food. This was recommend in Trip Advisor so we decided to try. It's in a shopping mall and they don't server alcohol. The place looks like an Italian Pizzeria and feels friendly. The choice in pizza was small. All pizza's are freshly made and FAST! We has one with extra pepperoni. Taste was excellent!Hi Jean!Thank you for your opinion! We would like to have alcohol, but in this town city hall don't allow us to serve it in shopping mall. if it's about pizzas, we are a new concept and we started with a small menu to have focus on the quality. In February will be changes and we hoping for pasta too.Hop you will come and visit us again.Best regards L. Eataly

The dishes we ordered greatly disappointed us. My wife had cod fillet in tomato sauce. The sauce had raw instead of roasted tomatoes, which cooled it down so it was unappealing. I had pasta carbonara and instead of prosciutto, it had roasted bacon, which was not bad, but there was almost no sauce and little cheese.

Peppes Pizza

As someone who usually trash Norwegian restaurant based on their ridiculous prices and low level of service, I have to admit; Peppes Pizza Gjøvik is actually quite good. The restaurant is always clean, and the waitresses are 99% of the time friendly and nice. They greet you at the door, something all restaurants with a certain level of seriousness to them should do, and show you were to sit. You can always book ahead, and their phone service system works well indeed. The surroundings of the restaurant is nice and friendly, but sometimes it can be quite loud as guests usually bring their kids, grandmas or even an annoyed aunt. The prices, like anything in Norway, are absymal and like a nightmare. However, in this case - if you like pizza, you almost get your moneys worth. The Pizzas are top class if you like the American type Pizzas. I heard they are doing other versions as well. You will have to look very long if you want better pizzas in Norway than what Peppes can offer you. However, sadly, it is the price of them that brings it all down and refrains me from going more than once or twice a year. Don't get me wrong, I can afford it, but it just feels like it isn't worth it when the Pizzas reach up to 250 NOK. But other than that, go. It is good. They know service and they even give you a free dessert if it's your birthday. They have by all means been looking abroad to find inspiration for their service, and it has paid off.

This is definitely a place for meat lovers. We went to Cafe Pi because we thought we could satisfy the tastes of everyone in our group, as well as for the view of the Mjøsa. The atmosphere is very cosy. The service was good, friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. Two of our friends ate the grill dishes, and my partner and I settled on the salad bar seeing as we're vegan. As far as salad bars go, my feeling was that it was pretty basic. It may be okay for people who only look for something on the side of their main meal, but as a main meal, I think it needs to expand and have a better selection (greater selection of different kinds of salads, not just lettuce and potato salad, which were the main types, with paprika, tomatoes, corn, canned beans on the side). I know Norway is not known for its veggie meals and salads, but still, Gjøvik isn't outback Norway. When I think of a salad bar, I think of Sizzler or the salad bar that I saw down in Oslo. Lots of home made specialities and very good quality produce. It makes such a huge difference in taste, texture, appearance and smell. I also think that it wouldn't be very hard for the chef to come up with a veggie shiskebab which could be grilled on his BBQ. That would satisfy the veggie mob.Just for the salad bar, I wouldn't be inspired to go back. For the view and atmosphere, yes. I really hope that the salad bar is improved, because this is a very nice place to go to, and would also be a place to recommend to the guests who stay with us. I can see that the chef puts a lot of pride, passion and effort into his grill meals and desserts. So that kind of energy could do wonders to the salad bar or veggie options.
