This great pizzeria/ristorante is tucked away in the mediaeval quarter of Palazzuolo Sul Senio - at the head of the Senio valley and in the province of Florence (Tuscany) but on the Romagna side of the Appenines. A beautiful village in the cool of the mountains providing a refreshing break from the heat of the pianura.Oskar always cooks great pizze in the wood fired oven but on this occasion we decided to go for a Fiorentina steak (similar to T-Bone but cut to provide one side fillet and the other sirloin (contrafiletto)). Not only was it enormous - over 1kg - but extremely tasty and the chef came to the table to slice it for us. Price? Unbeatable at â¬3.50/100g. Couple that with good regional wine, great roast vegetables and decent music.

We visited this restaurant with a group of friends at the end of November, just in time for porcini mushroom season, luckily for us. So we had porcini, hand made lasagna and pasta, cinghiale (wild boar), various desserts to share so we could try all of them and of course good Italian wine. Everything was delicious and at a very good price! Service was very fast and friendly. Additionally, it's just opposite of the castle and a 2min walk brings you to the river with an old stone bridge, do not miss this view :-). If you are driving by Bologna/Imola on the E45, we strongly suggest to make a detour and take the time to try this real traditional Italian restaurant!

Traditional tuscan restaurant, specialized in tortelli mugellani (with potatoes) handmade every day. Simple and genuine cuisine based on first quality ingredients.Simple menu card with few but very nice dishes: tuscan starters, fresh tortelli and ravioli
This was an incredible meal with amazing service. The ravioli was incredible, we had it with duck, wild boar and oil/cheese. All were incredible. Also the tagliatelle with wild boar. 4 different pizzas, all incredible. The only complaint is they are only open for dinner Thursday-Sunday so we can only go once!! They are open for breakfast and lunch and the bar is open until 8pm the other nights. Highly recommend.

The cuisine we offer is simple and based on the tradition of our territory. All the dishes are carefully groomed by Stefania, with products from our farm and nearby farms: rabbits , chickens and bulls are bred by us, the vegetables come directly from our
Booked as a party of 8. This place is right up in the mountains and a beautiful setting. As suggested it is a farm which takes only pre booking and I thing the minimun number is 6 or 8. We were shown into their "private" back room although there was another room set up for a party of 12.. We were served wine, beers and soft drinks straight away. They a secetion of dishes were put on the table for all of us to share. They were all very well presented and very tasty. Typical Italiene country good but of a very high standard - simple but good. Cold hams, cheeses, pates, and other delights. These starters were ample and we could hardly eat all of them and we were 8 hungry golfers! The best was to come. Now hot food was placed on the table to share. Chicken, sausages, pork, beef and other dishes. All very tasty. Once again ample food. There was cheese and homemade deserts to follow. What an outstanding evening. We had been to 5 different restaurants in this area and this was the very very best. And all for 26 Euros each. This experince should not be missed by eanyone in the area. The whole family looked after us. What a experience!! Well done.

Rather than stop at the services, why not drive off A1 and down a few mins into the village for lunch at il Ronco. Staff are really friendly and the food us delicious - all fresh and super value. We stop here every year on our way to Tuscany.

I like pizza and so I have it fairly frequently, and I like Italian style pizza; Guila's delivered what is possibly the second best pizza I have ever had. The service was excellent and delivered with a smile.

Bravi!

We stayed about 700 metres away in the Borgo di Messenano and found the El Paso to be a great asset to the area.We bought essential supplies there, eggs, fruit, bread, cheese milk there. There is also a range of snacks available and a licensed bar. We also ate there twice. Very handy on a dark night when it is 13 kms of windy road to the next town. Worth a visit. PS Smell the gorgeous roses whilst you are there.
