Happened upon Mezza Luna after visiting the Saturday Market. My wife didn't really want pizza, but wasn't interested in trying the 3-4 other places we looked into.It was our lucky day. We got the veggie pizza, without onions, and it was no contest the best pizza we ever had! I've had a lot of pizza, thin crust, thick crust, from Italy to NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc. and this was an extraordinary experience.Forget the typical Eugene funky atmosphere, it was comfortable and crowded, but watch them tossing the dough in the back, see the picture of Christopher Walken on the freezer and then enjoy some great pizza.

This place has a really interesting menu of pizzas. Some quite different from the usual. The two we had were very good. And we were given some free snacks to sample--which were also unusual and excellent. The service was friendly and helpful. We ate outside--in the shade--which was nice on a hot evening. Definitely would recommend.

Mazzi's has been in town longer than we have! When we first moved to Eugene 25 years ago, we ate here several times...as a couple and with visiting family. Each time, we tended to like it less. It was OK for spaghetti and meatballs for the kids, but not for finer adult dining. So, it's been more than a decade since we last had dinner there.Now that we live within walking distance of the restaurant we thought we'd give it another try. After all, how bad can a place be if you still have to wait for a table most nights?We went on a Monday night, which should have been slow, but they were doing a charity special with a share of each tab going to the charity...so, it was pretty busy. We didn't have to wait for a table, however, and were seated immediately. It's a comfortable, warm environment, but I noticed that it was pretty loud. There was a bit of a wait between being seated by the very cordial hostess and being greeted by our server. Water and rolls were delivered shortly, but we had a bit of a wait to give our order. Our server spent a lot of time talking to other tables (there's a fine line between informal personal socializing and neglecting others).My wife ordered a bowl of minestrone (specifying full bowl and hot) and I ordered the ravioli. She got exactly what she wanted and was quite happy. My ravioli (in meat sauce) was very good...and rich. I took home almost half of it, which is unusual for me.All in all, we had a pleasant meal. Nothing outstanding, but at the end of a stressful day it was quite relaxing and satisfying.Mazzi's delivers comfort and Italian comfort food. You won't find it on the Michelin list, but it's a great place for the neighborhood.Thank you stopping by, we always appreciate your feedback.

Excellent quality food for a bar and music venue. They use high quality ingredients and have more variety than the usual beer and burger selections. Also a great place to see the local color. Great location in the heart of Eugene's happening brewery district.

We were downtown on Saturday and thought a slice sounded good. Had never been to Sizzle Pie so got in the short line. It seemed the usual pizza place that sells slices. We ordered. And waited. The line grew. We waited. And waited. How long does it take to heat up a slice? They seemed overwhelmed and understaffed...or disorganized. Finally our slices came. Hubby had cheese, I had spinach and mushroom. It wasn't good. Crust was "OK"...sauce like tomato soup...bland and no flavor. Very little cheese. Like hardly any. I had like 4 mushrooms and 2 little pieces of spinach on mine. It was pathetic. Come on, you can do better!

Roaring rapids sits on the shore of the mighty Willamette River. 17 of us ordered a variety of pies. The crusts were flaky, the toppings fresh and plentiful. The site also offers a variety of games and an old fashion Carousel for kids. If you want pizza, this is the place to go.

The owner imports the ingredients from Italy and the pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven. It is Naples style pizza with many delicious choices. Tastier than I experienced in Naples. The waitstaff are the best. Courteous and thoughtful. The restaurant is interesting and comfortable. A favorite of families, seniors and couples. Choices of Italian red wines compliment the pizza flavors. We return often to an enjoyable experience each time.

I've always been a fan of Track Town Pizza down the road, but Mezza Luna Pizzeria is a bit different and a bit better. It is particularly good on "alternative" pizzas you don't always get at Track Town, as well as traditional flavors.

Order by phone and do a pickup. Great for ball games during baseball, football and basketball. Track town is close to house and on rare occasions will eat inside.
