Working in Epsom for the week and the usual go-to delivery lunch is from Dominoes. This week we decided to up it a notch and go with Pizza Express. The bases are a lot thinner which is great as you feel less bloating afterwards. As well as the nice thin base, the toppings are first class delivering a great flavour punch. Cannot fault it.

We picked the hottest night of the summer ( 38) to go out and although the front of the restaurant was opened right up it was terribly hot and humid- fans, if on, werenât doing anything. There were six of us and we had booked- probably advisable if a number of people in the group. In the evening it is possible to park in the semi pedestrian area right outside the restaurant but this is closed to traffic during the day. We went quite early before it became too busy- necessary on a hot night. Food is typical Italian with a number of similar choices in each group, such as pizza, pasta etc. Food is good and well presented and the few staff are friendly- probably a family concern.

Booked a table with a voucher via buyagift which was a present. Food was quick, nothing special -quite bland- which Iâm glad we didnât pay much for. There wasnât a wait between courses which was fine for my inpatient toddler but I did feel a little rushed. The girls who was waiting on were so polite and attentive. The manager on shift on the other hand was vile. We watched from afar on how she constantly spoke to the staff like rubbish, nothing they did was okay for her. She had a white shirt, blue jeans and trainers on. Mid drift showing constantly so all we could see was her belly hanging out. She had a face like thunder the whole time and stood in the corner barking her orders. Absolute shame on her for treating her staff like that!

Pizzeria & Grill
Although it's a general Italian restaurant, Peri Village's signature dish has to be its pizzas.I enjoyed a Diavolo, with jalapeno peppers, spiced beef, onion and pepperoni on top - £10.45 for the 'classic' version. With the addition of a swirl of chilli oil, it was deliciously fiery. The pizza variety is impressive. My companion had the Caprini, which is a veggie pizza made with goat's cheese and spinach - and it was good too.The crusts are thin, the topping generous, and the overall meal filling. The Peri Village restaurant is pleasant, although it's a bit echoey and soulless inside. The food more than makes up for that. The loos are bizarre. Although there is a ground-floor disabled loo, everyone else has to go up a series of steps and ramps past the kitchen and on to the back emergency access. There's no lock on the outer door of the gents, so you have to hope nobody decides to throw open the door and expose your performance to public gaze. There is, however, a lock on the sit-down bit. All the same, it's strange.Friendly service, good chefs and filling (if dull and formulaic) puds.Well-priced wines. At around £20 for a decent bottle of red, the mark-up is nowhere near as outrageous as some establishments.A good community restaurant in this shopping parade.

We visited as group so all starters and mains were pre-ordered. Drinks arrived promptly but then we seemed to be forgotten about. After prompting the mixed platters of starters arrived; about the only Italian thing on the board was mozzarella (I donât consider rolled-up plastic ham to be Italian??). Mains again took nearly an hour to arrive - my carbonara has to be cut into chunks with a knife and fork as it was so chunky. Everything just seemed overcooked and stodgy. We ordered desserts : an hour and five minutes before the last one arrived! We had to keep asking for refills of water and more drinks - these were never offered. But over four hours for 3 courses???They seemed to be very short-staffed but since the restaurant knew there was a big party in, why not bring in extra staff? Or else refuse the booking if they couldnât cope with the numbers? Would I go back? Never. Would I recommend? No.

IL GRANDE Italian Cucine, Pizza Pasta, Meat, Fish. Our dough is made fresh each day from the finest wheat, hand-stretched and cooked on the stone burning oven. Our sauces are made from only the finest vine-ripened Italian tomatoes and topped with select f
Saturday 4th August before the cinema we decided to eat out and instead of dining at our usual favourite ASK Italian we tried IL Grande in the Ebbisham Centre as it looked attractive with a front patio area. What a mistake. Firstly the service was grumpy, abrupt and unpleasant. Honestly the man couldn't even smile! The food was as bad. The bruscgetta to be fair was lovely, the Burrata was hard with a dollop of double cream on top lying on 2 greasy pieces of aubergine. Really poor for the money. We ordered the rigatoni with Italian sausage as a main. I love my pasta and I love it al dente but this was so hard, in a greasy cream sauce with inedible and tasteless sausage ( if that's what it was). We also ordered a salmon pizza with extra prawns. I am at this point speechless. A pizza base with no tomato base, instead funny double cream topped with huge amounts of cheese so the base was undercooked was served. The salmon was lovely, the 2 ( broken in half) king prawns were not!! simply awful. £50 spent and I just wanted to go. As we paid the grumpy waiter asked me if everything was ok. When I said it was just ok he grunted and walked off and stared at us as we left. What a mistake. I won't be going back that a for sure.

Restaurant:Attractively decorated. Ample comfortable seating (divided into two sections). Conducive to dinner conversation. Clean and bathroom well designed. Wheel chair friendly. Ample parking (especially in the evenings).Service:We were warmly greeted by the manager and given a choice of tables. Alessio who looked after us provided sterling service -helpful, paced service and willing to tolerate our attempts at speaking in Italian! Our thanks.Dining Experience:Non vegetarians have a wide choice but vegetarians and vegans are equally catered for.The complimentary olives were pitted, well-seasoned and appetising. On this occasion we opted for Bruschetta and Taleggio fritto (served with a divine fig sauce) for starters and we were not disappointed. For the main course we chose Risotto Marinara (creamy, but too many clams and squids, two prawns and lacking a tad in flavouring) and Panzerotti funghi (absolutely delicious!!!!). I asked for garlic bread with mozzarella and was shocked to see its size - like a medium-sized pizza. The mixed salad was made with fresh ingredients but a little short on the dressing. We enjoyed our meal with the house wine, a Sicillian dry red. An Amaretto tiramisu rounded off the meal with pleasure. The portions are generous and presentation of the dishes is good. Service is included in the bill.On the whole we had a very pleasant dining experience and we shall be returning to sample other dishes on the menu Thumbs up!
