Least expensive meal we had a week of running around Germany, and the best one. Location is central, behind th church, pizza is good, pasta is also good, and the ice cream is great (comes from the gelateria next door). This is no fancy dining, it's a pizzeria in a small town in Germany, but it makes good food.

My wife and I had 2 meals here when we visited in mid April. The first night we had two pasta dishes and they were very good. The 2nd night my wife had lasagna and I had a calzone. Both again were delicious. Place reminds me of a house turned into a small restaurant. Not many tables. Exceptional food, quaint restaurant.

Room was ok with river view but noisy overnight with trains running other side of Rhein.Breakfast -well !! The breakfast was suffering with flies walking all over it- in the fruit/ jam / bread.Stuck with packaged cereals and yoghurt!!Staff friendly ( not much English!) And helped when shower head broke!Didn't eat in restaurant at night so can't comment on that -went elsewhere in Boppard.

I think the name should be Antonius Stube (two words). And I would also put the location as Bad Salzig, not Boppard. But however you spell the name, this is a very highly recommended restaurant/bar.For £22 (combined), we had a large and delicious dinner consisting of a main course each (I can recommend the Gypsy Pork Steak) and "big beer" (pint).Go and eat at 'Antonious Stube' - it is a friendly, warm and welcoming bar and as said above, the food was delicious and filling. Cannot say how good dessert would have been, as we were too full to try! Sadly, the bar was closed on Tuesday evening, so we were unable to thank them for their hospitality over the previous two nights. They cater for both smokers and non-smokers, with an area for each. Being Germany (state legislation overruled EU smoking directives), smoking is allowed in bars. But when we first ate here, the front bar was set out as non-smoking (until an ignorant group from the UK asked if they could smoke there), with the back bar being set over to smoking. But on the second night there were locals smoking in the front bar. That said, it didn't seem to linger in the air, despite being a small bar.Our faltering attempts at German were appreciated - no need with the waitress who spoke good enough English, but making the effort to say "please", "thank you", "good evening", "good night" and so on doesn't take much... but does show a little respect for the friendly hosts. If you stay in Bad Salzig, try Antonius Stube... we would have eaten there three nights in a row if they had been open. It was that enjoyable.

The woman who works here (and possibly owns the restaurant?) is so, so, so nice. She had no problem whatsoever running back to the kitchen three times to ask the chef questions about sauces, fryers, oil, etc. I HATE having to ask so many questions about gluten and cross-contamination, especially in a country not my own, but it was easy here and she didn't even make me feel badly about it. She said "oh, you poor lady, it must be very hard." I almost melted on the spot. A lot of restaurateurs get really annoyed, I guess because all the questions make it sound like I don't trust them or I don't think they know what they're doing, but this woman was nothing but empathetic and I love her and I wish we could be best friends forever. She even let me practice my German when ordering even though it wasn't very good! They have gluten-free pasta and they make all their sauces in the restaurant as well as their salad dressings, so the chef can make anything without gluten. They do put flour on their pommes to keep the from sticking together, but they will make them without. She said in the summer they have two fryers, so perhaps one is dedicated to gluten-free fare, I wasn't quite clear on that. Because we were there in the late winter/early spring, they only had one fryer, and the chef had made chicken nuggets before we came in, so I couldn't have any pommes. But I had a beef steak with mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, a yummy salad, and some gluten free pasta to round out the plate. My husband had a schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and spaetzle, and he liked it a lot. This was a nice place, and the water is on tap, I believe, so it didn't cost 6,000 euros. Not the fanciest or maybe even the best food in Sankt Goar, but I would certainly eat here again.

Closed from November to March
We arrived late and they told us that the kitchen was closed, but would check if they could accommodate us and they did, which we greatly appreciated. The ambience is wonderful, with the restaurant overlooking the Rhine, apart from it's decor. The staff were really nice and spoke very good English. Food was cooked well and service was relatively fast.

Friendly and welcoming staff, good value food & drinks, and the food was brilliant, the menu being a mix of croatian and italian. We were really touched when on our last night we'd stopped for drinks on the way back to our hotel, and were recognised from our previous visit, to be given some home-made cakes which the staff team were sharing as it was one of their birthdays. We will definitely return!Dear 456charlie,it was our pleasure to have your positive energyin our Restaurant! In a high season it is not always easy to make an unforgettable memories to our guests, but a people like you and you friends are our motivation!Off course that we hope to have you in our Restaurant again!

This was the only restaurant we tried during our short visit in this sleepy town. We had some pasta, and it was ok. Not great, but ok. The Croatian waitress was very charming, although we didn't have a lot of common language :)

Having visited this restaurant several times whilst travelling through Germany we had always found it pleasant. However after our meal this evening, the waitress refused to accept either credit or debit British cards for payment ! With very little explanation apart from â the boss ( chefin) says we can only accept normal bank cards ! However our British bank cards, both credit and debit cards were not accepted as the definition of a normal bank card! according to the waitress! We have used both cards in this restaurant before without any problems. If this is a new â ruleâ it smacks of foreigners not welcome. This is not stated anywhere on the website, menu or anywhere else as far as we are aware! This is dreadful customer service and I very much doubt we shall visit this restaurant again! Please be aware you will need cash if you visit this place.
