Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire, in the East Midlands region of England. It has the highest elevation – about 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level – of any market town in England. Close to the county boundary with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park". A municipal borough until 1974, Buxton was then merged with other localities lying primarily to the north, including Glossop, to form the local government district and borough of High Peak within the county of Derbyshire. Despite being in the East Midlands, economically Buxton is within the sphere of influence of Greater Manchester. The population of the town was 22,115 at the 2011 Census.

We placed rather a large order (11 people) online with Buxton Food Spot and were given a waiting time of approximately 1 hour which, given the size of the order, could have been taken with a pinch of salt (pun not intended). The order was for delivery.2 hours and 10 minutes later we decided to call Buxton Food Spot to make sure they had our order and if it was due any time soon. They advised that the driver wasn't there so they must be on their way with our order. Excellent. Given that we were only 0.6 miles apart, we were eagerly anticipating our food within the next 5-10 minutes. 40 minutes later we decided to phone again to enquire about our order. We couldn't get a straight answer out of them. By this time it was far too late to go elsewhere so I decided to drive down and pay them a visit. It turns out that our food was being prepared some 3 hours after ordering, just as I walked in. We were told the driver was knocked over and therefore I imagine so was our food. No phone call to advise us and no evidence of fallen food all over the road. Not many different routes to go in 0.6 miles but I can't confirm whether this did happen or not.To top it all off they missed out one of the items on the order, offered no discount for their below average service and couldn't be bothered to label the 6 different curries we had. The one and only time that we'll use Buxton Food Spot. The onion Bhajis were nice.

Ordered pizza from Oliverâs whilst staying at Longnor Wood Holiday Park. Pizzas were lovely and lots of it - similar to a pizza pie than deep pan, we couldnât finish it all and had it for lunch the next day! Also ordered fries, onion rings, and garlic sauce which was all also really nice. Free garlic bread was a great added bonus!Service really nice, rang before they were leaving and arranged to collect from the driver at reception.

Visiting area so after reading menu it appeared the better choice of what was available on a Sunday night. Partner and myself ordered a pizza each plus garlic, tomato, onion bread and two soft drinks. The paper napkin came in handy for me when I had spit the garlic bread out - tasted disgusting and partner didnt eat more than the first slice. Both couldn't finish our pizzas because they were just terrible. We joked that they'd come from Iceland in the one pound aisle! Decor drab & dated. Wasted £30 but our fault as should've read reviews first. Stay well clear!

Went for an early evening end of year meal with colleagues/friends. Waitress couldnât have been better. Food was plentiful and good. We have missed a good Italian since carriages changed hands. This is a good replacement.

Bright and modern, PizzaExpress Buxton offers an exciting reinvention of Italian classics. A vibrant menu includes wholesome Romana-style pizzas with adventurous topping combinations, as well as fresh salads, an impressive range behind the bar and aromati
We are definitely not ones to complain, but our experience at this Pizza Express was extremely disappointing. The service was dreadful. We are arrived at 5.45 p.m., it was not busy, but we did not receive our starters until 6.20 in spite of ordering almost as soon as we arrived. The problem was we had tickets for the Opera House and time was ticking by. We twice asked how long our main course would be. Finally we gave an ultimatum that if it didn't arrive in the next two minutes we would have to leave and cancel our order. It finally came at 6.55. What we couldn't understand was that other people who arrived well after us were served much more quickly. Indeed one couple had a full meal and departed before we had even started. The next problem was that one of the dishes was virtually inedible. It was spaghetti bolognese and it was burnt. We pointed this out to the manager, who did at least apologise and offered to do another dish, but by this time it was it was much too late so my partner shared my dish and we departed having had £10 knocked off the bill. We won't be returning. that's for sure.
