There are few independent restaurants (I mean restaurants that are not located inside a hotel or a guesthouse) in Schruns, so this Italian restaurant is a welcome addition to the scene. My tuna pizza had a crispy base, but otherwise it was average at best. There was too much grease at the top, at least in my opinion. The risotto my wife ate was quite good, though. Or at least that's what she said.Staff was friendly and efficient. They also had the eye to place us at the back of the restaurant because of our small baby.

On one evening when were not up to.coocking ourselves, we turned to Al Fiume for take away pizza. Turned out too be the right choice. Proper tasty pizza's. But while waiting for the pizza's we decided to order also two mixed appetizers. Actually they are not equipped for this. We received each mixed appetizer in a pizza box on alu paper. But this turned out to be an excellent choice. The restaurant itself looks really outdated..

The food definitely not something for someone who has high standards, but itâs edible. The soup was very salty, the chicken from the salad was a bit boring.

The 'Pizzeria Antonio' is quite a big place, cutting through a whole block from the main entrance at the Bahnhofstrasse to the pedestrianized, cobble-stoned Sturnenstrasse, where there is also some outdoor seating. My choice had been one of a few tables at the Sturnenstrasse. The friendly waiter came fast, so did everything else I ordered. Since there were Austrian dishes on offer as well I went for Vorarlberg's most typical speciality 'Kässpätzle'. Unlike most other places here the dish was offered only with salad not with the choice of the more traditional 'Apfelmus' to accompany it.The dish came in an earthenware bowl, which was quite cold, so it was definitely not prepared in it. It was the third time I ordered this menu within a year. First in Bregenz it arrived in a wooden plate, then in Feldkirch in a piping hot iron plate. And for my taste it got less good everytime. While in Bregenz they used tasty 'Bregenzerwälder Bergkäse' and in Feldkirch a mixture of Vorarlberger Emmentaler and Montafoner Suure Kees (sour cheese), here the waiter couldn't tell me, which cheeses were used, although from a geographical point of view it must have been the same combination as in Feldkirch. The accompanying salad came drowned in a ready made Italian dressing. And the espresso in the end was something between cold and luke-warm.
