A chain restaurant but serving a good variety of food. Not fine dining but good variety of Italian food mainly pizza and pastas. The servers were friendly and good but service was slow either because of kitchen problems or because there didn’t seem enough servers to handle the number of customers.

1 of my sons booked a table for 8 people yesterday, Mother’s Day, for 6.45. Four of our party arrived at 6.40 & were told there would be a 15 minute delay & offered a complimentary drink. The rest of arrived at 6.45. There was a queue of people at the bar area & the whole restaurant was packed. At 7 o’clock, 1 of our party asked a member of staff if the 4 of us who had not been offered a drink could now have 1. We were then sat down at 7.15. We were given menus & just 1 special ‘Mothers Day’ menu which listed offers of 2 or 3 courses plus a glass of Prosecco. We had to ask for further copies of this menu, which seemed odd considering the day? The 7 adults proceeded to order from the specials & the child in our party chose from the standard menu. The wait for starters & further drinks was very, very long (& 1drink arrived with a bottle top sitting among the ice cubes....quite dangerous as well as unpleasant to see) Once we had eaten the starters we asked when the Prosecco would be served. It eventually arrived. Mains also eventually arrived.A few of us had ordered the chicken breast in marsala sauce. The chicken arrived covered with mushrooms but no sauce. Though we had originally decided on the 3 courses offer, we had by then become so disappointed with the food & service that we asked for the bill. The time on the bill was 21.39. That is 3 hours for 2 courses. We had mentioned during the evening that we were waiting far too long for service. I visited Prezzo earlier today to speak to someone to ask what had gone wrong. I was told that at around 7pm last night it had become very busy & food was delayed. But I was given no reason why?Hi, we offer our sincere apologies for the service and food received during your dining experience with us. It’s unacceptable to dine with us and have this level of service and food in any of our restaurants. We know we can do better and hope that you will allow us an opportunity to prove this. After checking into our hotel we went to this place for late lunch. We had read the good reviews so we thought we’d give it a try. We weren’t disappointed. We received a friendly welcome and attentive service. We had two aperol spritz cocktails whilst looking at the menu. We ordered two mains of penne with nduja sausage which we both agreed was delicious. This was one of the best pasta dishes we had eaten. We had a good bottle of merlot red wine too. We finished our meals with expressos and limoncello. We really enjoyed our experience at this lovely Italian restaurant.

Our party of 6 booked a table for an evening meal at Pizza Express Billericay on Saturday 24th November. The restaurant was not very busy - only a total of 3 tables occupied. However, it did take a considerable time for a waiter to bring menus and take orders for our drinks.Disappointingly the 2 tables adjacent to ours had been left uncleared and were still covered in old food, used napkins and cutlery.Our starters were enjoyable, we had a selection of squid rings; and various salads, dips and dough balls. However, when we had finished no one came to clear the table - we had to go and find one of the bar staff to get service and the table cleared.It then took and inordinate amount of time for our mains to arrive - it was clear that the kitchen were filling take away orders but not diners orders on ours, or other tables'.We again had to go and find staff to get our main courses brought to the table.Obviously we made our complaint known to the manager - he immediately apologised and gave us a 15% discount on our bill of around £140.Although the discount was welcome - I would rather have had decent service.

We visited on a Saturday night with family and the restaurant was very busy. This didn’t stop the staff being very friendly efficient and courteous. When our meals came out, they were tasty, freshly made and piping hot. Food prices are fair, only sore point is that the Peroni is pretty expensively over £6 a bottle. Heading back there tonight again with a group of friends and looking forward to it, so will stick to just buying the one beer!
