Sorrentoâs is not a fancy restaurant, but is a nice smaller local pizzeria right on Main Street in Mendham where you can eat-in or takeout. Thereâs parking in front on Main St. and behind Sorrentoâs. The menu offers a variety of regular or gourmet Pizza and various Italian dishes. We stopped by for lunch today and had a couple Pizza slices, one with pepperoni and the other with sausage, both very good tasting.

While better then many in the area, having grown up in a town with several exceptional "Tomato Pie" pizza places I can not give it better then average overall, but they are better then average in the area.

Nestled in Historic Mendham NJ, Piattino is serving up great Italian Fare with a modern twist, sourcing artisan ingredients from across the world and our own back yard. Our chef has crafted a menu full of new takes on classic entrees and pastas. And, our
My spouse and I were looking for an Italian restaurant where we could find that good nonnas cooking. We decided on Piattino and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was cozy and neatly decorated. Our waitress was friendly and competent. The wine list is limited but the choices are good and not extravagant in price. Our wine by the glass was actually listed as a special for that night so it was slightly cheaper. We shared an appy of crisp carrot risotto balls which came With arugula, roasted pepper, basil puree and fresh ricotta. Though the salad part was a little salty the rice balls we're delicious. We split a Caesar salad Which I'm glad we did because it was so large. I ordered the daily special which was linguine with clams in a basil puree. It was very interesting because you actually didn't see a sauce with the pasta yet it was somehow infused in the dish and extremely delicious. My spouse had the nonnas lasagna which had a sort of beschmel sauce. It was good but way too rich for my taste. There are a lot of good choices on this somewhat limited menu And we both intend on going back to try more dishes.

We often order from here and my kids love their pizza and meatballs. We tend to order the same thing and are not very adventurous with pizza. Their pastas sound good as well. I just read another review that mentioned cannolis so we will have to add that to our order the next time.

Ordered a Griglia Chicken Pizza (traditional pizza with balsamic marinated grilled chicken and roasted red peppers - $20.95) and a Caprese Salad (fresh mozzarella, sliced roma tomato, fresh basil and roasted red peppers over romaine and red leaf lettuce - $10.95) for pickup on an early Saturday evening for pick up and was told the order would be ready in "15-20 minutes." Arrived in 15 minutes and everything was ready. The staff was friendly. The pizza had a nice sauce and the chicken was fine; the crust was too thick and doughy for our likes. The salad was a bit above average, but nothing particularly spectacular. We were visiting family in Basking Ridge and this was an easy dinner option. Don't think this would be a go to pizzeria for us.

This smallish, clean and casual Italian place is located in a historic building right across from the Presbyterian Church with the 600-year old White Oak Tree. It is obviously a favorite for the locals.Their sign outside says that it is âcomfort foodâ, and we found this to be very true. Their very large-sized Menu offers quite a varied selection of items. Their starter bread with butter was hot out of the oven â just the way we like it. For the Main Course, the four of us ordered a Panini Caprese, a Brooklyn Sub, a Turkey-Swiss Panini and a small Stromboli with Marinara sauce. Three of the dishes were excellent, but the Caprese was just OK. It was certainly edible, but, in the Pita sandwich, there was a just a thin slice of Mozzarella instead of the thick, fresh one that we are used to. Plus there were too many tomatoes and not enough Basil. Not too much of an issue â just our opinion. Our food was delicious, the Salads were fresh and crispy, and the well-made Marinara dipping sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the huge Stromboli. Our server, Ruben, was polite, friendly and attentive, and the décor of the nicely lit brick-walled dining room felt homey with tons of pictures and cute sayings. We were here for a late lunch after a short hike in a neighboring Park. We would have ordered less food had we known how humongous the portions were. We left with enough food for another meal. No one can go wrong for two meals at that price point. Our first impression of this place was positive, and we would love to return on our next trip to Basking Ridge.

Lately weâve been stopping at various pizza places to try there Italian Submarine sandwiches for lunch. Buona Pizza is an older local pizza/restaurant that has been in Bernardsville since 1969. Today when I spotted a parking space close-by we decided to check it out. I ordered the cold Italian sub to go. The sub was made the way I liked it with fresh bread, meat, cheese, lettuce & tomato, lots of olive & vinegar and tasted great. This kind of sandwich needs to be eaten there, unless you live or work really close, otherwise the oil & vinegar (the amount I like) will make the bread soggy if you wait too long. The owner was very friendly.

The "sub shop" name is a misnomer. This is a bona fide Italian restaurant. The pizzas are excellent to be sure, and the variety of selection outstanding. But the pasta fagioli is one of the best I've ever had and the nightly specials (including a pasta, chicken and seafood selection) are excellent. They do mussels well, the fried calamari is excellent and their puttanesca sauce is authentic. The only criticism I might have is their Caesar salad is rather plain. Prices are reasonable and there is adequate indoor seating. Lenny's is a "go to" place for the locals.

We ordered two great pizzas for takeout, One had fennel sausage and mushrooms, and the other had pepperoni, red onions, fennel sausage. Thin crust perfectly cooked. We also got rigatoni with really great meatballs. Tried their salad misto with fennel and grilled shrimp. All delicious.
