Not easy to find a place around the Balaton. I mean, the situation gets better by every year, but now you feel happy yourself, when you step in Il Monte. Cozy little restaurant, with just a few meal: a good sign. Our food was ok, a bit overprized. Not for the place, hey, its a well visited city by tourist, to the food itself. The pizza was quite ok, thin but rich, prepared well and correct. Sad, the service was kind, a bit tired and sleepy, nervous as well. Anyway, i recomended Il Monte, because in the area there are not so many place are with such a nice promises!Thank you for your words! We hope that you'll visit us next time also if you are in Badacsony!
Prima biefstuk en kipgerechten. Voor een snelle hap, terwijl mensen om je heen op spelautomaten spelen en televisieschermen aan de muur hangen, maar wel smakelijk.

I think this is a rather good restaurant on Révfülöp. Its off the pier, but just opposite there is a car park. The terrace is lovely and comfy, eg. breastfeeding a baby in those chairs, or having a baby sit there is really easy. (My only issue for families that they have no nappy changing possibility.). The service is quite attentive and quick. The portions are big, they rather serve modern hungarian dishes, but everything was nicely prepared. And their pizza is good too. We also had breakfast here, and there is a wide selection, good value for money. Its a good, comfy option for dinner in the area.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to! Slow, rude and impolite staff, providing a terrible service. The food quality is way below average, with higher prices, compared to the other restaurants nearby. Do not come here if you would like to enjoy a nice, quiet meal. I will definitely won't come back here.

Good place for a pizza. The wood heated oven is perfect for the pizza. There is a big variety of toppings available and you can create your own picks as well. If you don't want to eat pizza, there are several other options. I recommend the grilled meats. If you need to find a place to watch sport programs and eat pick this location. The desserts are not so good.
This place is a little off the beaten track, a few hundred meters off the main road running along on the south bank of Lake Balaton. It looks pretty unassuming but we were attracted to try it for a take away pizza one night by it's friendly below-Balaton-average prices. We had six different pizzas all of which were very much in the Hungarian pizza style and all were fine though I wasn't personally so keen on the giros one - I have never been a huge of fan of baked lettuce... As they also serve standard Hungarian dishes we decided to go there for a family meal on our last night. It was a hot evening and a storm was brewing. We were told that if we didn't want to get struck by lightning we should sit indoors. We decided on the eating-and-surviving option but after ordering we waited a full (very hot) hour for our food. Not a great start. Just when we were about to leave the food arrived - in vast quantities I must say. Maybe they added extra salt to compensate for what we had lost sweating in the sweltering indoor seating area as it was even by Hungarian standards incredibly salty. Even so very authentic and everything tasted good, especially the beef stew which was excellent. The grill platter for 4 was enormous and enough for 8 normal appetites on a hot day. We ended up taking half of it home and eating it in cooler conditions over the next couple of days. The french fries were also unusually good I found. On the drinks front the wine was a mistake - chilled local red that fairly took gums off the roof of your mouth. Even my Hungarian company agreed that the chilled draught Dreher beer would have probably been a better option. In the end the long wait was all forgiven when we discovered that this busy Friday night was all being managed by a single cook who despite being on her own still managed to produce good hearty Hungarian fare for all of us at a great price. It seems that even at the Balaton it is challenge to get chefs who can earn at least double across the border in Austria. An unwished for trip to the hospital in Siofok the day before had confirmed that this is also the case with doctors in Hungary these days too. Sad state of affairs in this wonderful country.

As part of a package, we were given the full menu to choose from, but all meals seemed to be reasonably cheap, by our standards. Wine ditto. Food always well presented and hot.Dear Linda, thank you for your review!
