Great pizza. This is located less than a block from our house. We anxiously awaited the opening which was delayed by delivery of the wood fired pizza oven. We started with takeout orders. My wife, who is not a strong pizza fan, loved the eggplant version. It was such a big hit that we had it for the last three of five weekends. This week we were joined by friends from New York who have some pizza experience. We ate in the restaurant with excellent service and everyone enjoyed the eggplant and the margarita versions.Without our requesting it, the waitress brought grated cheese and pepper flakes. The meal was topped off with the freshly made lemon basil gelato. We ate at a hard topped table with cloth napkins! It is a BYOB restaurant. Various soft drinks were available along with Italian coffees. Be sure to see the woodfired pizza oven with the rotating floor. We all plan to return during the season when we expect a longer wait for a table or for a pizza.

Yes itâs got good pizza (HUGE) but the Phillies cheesesteaks are beyond belief. The BEST. The pizza is good too. We love the thin crust, not too cheesy, just enough pepperoni and really good.
what a nice surprise when you stop in a place for a piece of pizza and an appetizer, and when the appetizer comes out, your blown away. The calamari was huge, well cooked, season perfectly. The best breaded calamari I ever had. Hands down no comparison. The pizza wasn't bad neither.

After reading other reviews that mentioned long waits in the restaurant, we decided a Friday night was not the time to test our luck. We ordered two pizzas for pickup - 45 mins. and $30. For a Friday night in Avalon, not bad. The woman who waited on me at the counter was friendly but efficient. There was a crowd of diners and those waiting to pick up, but our order was ready right on time and I was able to park only a few spaces away from the entrance. Cash only; there's an ATM inside.

Stopped in while taking a drive through Coastal New Jersey. We were hungry and looking for something that was Dog Friendly. All though not inside, we were able to sit outside with the pups. The pizza was good, and the staff was friendly, even offering water for our pups.

On Friday, July 12, at 1:00 p.m., our party of 10 had lunch outside on the third level. Our waiter was Ben. I can't begin to express the service we received. Ben was personable, attentive and one of the best waiters ever. Our party ordered a variety of food and drinks, all of which were fantastic. However, Ben is what made our luncheon so enjoyable. He was there every time someone had a request. Thank you Ben. The Windrift is lucky to have you.Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are so glad that you were happy with your server, Ben and will be sure to share this with his manager.
