Best known as the capital of Charlemagne's Frankish empire, today's Aachen sits at the juncture where Germany meets the Netherlands (the Dutch know it as Aken) and Belgium (where "Walloons" call it Aix-la-Chapelle). But Aachen's history goes back even further than 8th-century Charlemagne. Roman soldiers dating back to the 1st century AD cherished its hot springs (as did Charlemagne, who loved a good spa day just as much as the next guy). Aachen Cathedral, northern Europe's oldest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the city's main attraction.

A real naples style pizza, very tasty and authentic (i'm italian). I didn't appreciate the service as two people at my table only received their pizza after a long time since everybody else was done with his meal, which is unacceptable. I hope that you will improve this side of your activity, that's why i gave you a good mark though.

Seriously, Pizza as good as it can get. Crispy dough, fresh ingredients and great combinations to choose from. The pasta is also on par with that, freshly made, and the sauces are miraculous (pun intended). Try the daily specials! Service is always great, they have great espresso also. The restaurant is really small, so book a table ahead (or just do take out).

I don't want to write a review. We like this place. We have been going here since 1995. It is great. I am biased. We no longer live in Aachen but when we come to the old continent we come back to La Finestra. Spaghetti alla finestra. Atmosphere is great inside and out. Service is quick, be warned that some staff have personality. Even my kids still know their names. So please, this is our restaurant, I am not supposed to share.

Not many reviews yet, so time to change that: we had a really nice dinner at Frascati. Very good, traditional bruschetta and carpaccio. Main course tasted good. Unfortunately some of the fried potatoes were a tad on the black side. As a dessert, we had a really nice panna cotta. All in all a really nice restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.

After wandering around Aachen amongst crowds of people in the busy Christmas markets this restaurant was our saviour. The pleasant manageress (a little frazzled with a busy restaurant including a large group of women on a Christmas night out) managed to find us a table. Warned us that there would be a wait but that was fine with us. We opted for easy pasta dishes for quickness, both the spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti alla nostrana were tasty and filling. Perfect for a chilly evening. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. Another table with young children and a small baby were enjoying their evening too. A lovely mix of customers.
