Reviews on Peruvian food in Puno, Puno Region, Peru. Llamas, sheep and alpacas roam the plains of Puno, a port city in southeastern Peru. Their fleeces are used to make the area’s signature textiles, which make excellent souvenirs. You’ll do a lot of walking here, as many of the streets are too steep for cars. But the climbs are worth it for the excellent views of Lake Titicaca. Take a boat to the Floating Islands or get up close and personal with the four-legged locals at a llama farm.

Despite being within the bustling streets of central Puno, this restaurant had a great atmosphere whilst being very relaxing. Service by Ignacio was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious (particularly beef tenderloin with bacon and cheese WOW). Was very very busy, would definitely recommend...

This is a small cafe just a little off Lima St. Its nicely decorated with a lot of greenery at the entrance and a small back patio. Sadly, by the evening the patio does get a little chilly, but I believe they do have space heaters. Food is decent. I had a veg lasagna and a Nutella crepe. They do have a good selection of vegetarian options

We had a quick dinner sharing a main course. The trout was really amazing - the best we had in Peru. However the service by the waiter was very poor and unfriendly. We felt treated as B customers.

After reading other reviews we decided to try this restaurant and weren't disappointed. It's situated on one of the main roads (Calle Lima) and is easy to find.Whilst the service isn't the fastest in the world the food is worth the wait. The main course were pretty good but theyare right; the desserts are even better. Two courses + 1 drink each cost just over 100 sols.Just beware of the drinks menu though. I chose 'Mint Lemonade' which turned out to be lemon juice + mint....

We wanted to visit this place, 12th of June 2019, but couldn't find it. Eventually checked the housenumbers and discovered that it doesn't exist anymore.

Nice place for any time of day and night, friendly environment, very good service and selected music. Located in the heart of Puno, La Casa del Corregidor is a historical monument dating back to 1668. We have a home cousine that serves salads, soups, meal
We order different tapas, pies, guacamole, fried nachos and Spicy chicken wings. The latter was dry and not that spicy. It looked really good but all was a bit blend in taste. If the chef had just dared to add some herbs and spices. Chilli, cilantro and lime would have helped a lot. Hope the chef reads this because the foundation was there, only needed a bit flavour. We tried 5 restaurants in Puno and none of them is worth mentioning so cafe bar has a real opportunity to lift their food the next level. Good luck

The flavours and presentation of our breakfast and dinner were very enjoyable. These were complemented by friendly, smiling and unobtrusive service at table. The discreet, courteous behaviour was most welcome. Most of our contact was with Luz who was a credit to herself and the hotel.

Stunning food accompanied by very nice wines and helpful staff. The Tartar-like Trout ceviche was out of this world, one of the best starters I've ever had. The guinea pig was a new experience and a great one and the beef was melt in the mouth and gamey! Absolutely recommend this place, and it really isn't as expensive as the reviews might suggest.
