We arrived in Bologna late early Sunday evening and had rented an apt. near Via Murri. Our landlord suggested this restaurant as it was only a 2 block walk. As a family of 4, we were welcomed warmly. We sat in the garden and ordered as best we could! Our host at the restaurant did not speak English, and we didn't know Italian, but all worked out fine. Pasta dishes were all fantastic. Caprese salad fresh and wonderful. Fish was fresh and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the pricing was very reasonable. At the end of the trip, we felt that this was our best meal and wish we would have gone back!

A charming place, friendly service and delicious food. The fresh pasta was excellent - we had tagliatelle and tortelloni. Meat was also very good - steak, lamb and scallopine. Highly recommended.

We spent two evenings here while renting a house in Castel de Britti and both occasions were thoroughly enjoyable. The restaurant specialises in local dishes and has a good selection of wine from the area. On our first evening we were taken through the menu by the owner who spoke very good English and we decided upon a selection of starters including the local crescentine bread for us all to share. Some of the dishes that appeared were not on the menu and were substantial enough to be a meal in itself! Not knowing anything about the local wine we asked for it to be chosen for us and a great selection was provided. For the main course we tried pasta dishes which showcased the local vegetables in season. On the second evening we sampled a number of the meat dishes all of which were excellent and were accompanied by a dish of courgette cut into strips and deep fried in a light batter. Delicious and something we all want to experiment with at home! All in all this is the sort is restaurant we all wish we had at the bottom of our street - great food, great service and great atmosphere.

Meal was tasty but nothing extraordinary, rather small portions.Good thing is that restaurant has pretty big parking and nice terrace suitable for bigger company.

That kind of neighborhood restaurant. Good food, some "bolognese" specialities. House wine is not in the same level but you can choose good ones from the wine list. Being close, it's a fair choice.

Not easy to find, hidden in the fields around San Lazzaro, in the outskirts of Bologna. You come here for traditional Bolognese food. I had trippa (excellent) and "crescentine" (fried dough) with prosciutto & soft cheese (squacquerone, try pronouncing that if you are not Italian!). The crescentine were very good and huge, the largest I ever had (and I am from the area). Too oily though, and I am still digesting them the morning after. Others had tortelloni, tagliatelle and lasagne and seemed to be happy with them. They also have some good wine from the area. Service was good and reasonably fast. About 25 euros per person in total, quite fair. Very noisy, a good place for large groups, also with children. Must be nice in the summer.

We visited Bologna for four nights following in the footsteps of Rick Stein. Tried his first recommendation and were disappointed by the service.... Can't think why he missed 051..... it's brilliant! Right in the heart of Bologna's "Soho". Wait for a table if you have to.... The hams and cheeses are superb, the tortellini marvellous and the tortelloni truly memorable....... And all for about 30Euros a head including wine. Go there!

Very nice location in a renovated barn. The food was ok but not great (at least for locals' standard). The tagliatelle were too salty and with too little pasta in comparison to the amount of ragù.Cotoletta bolognese was rather heavy and with more bechamel than parmesan.The place lacks a chef that gives the right balance and character to the dishes. To be improved!

Cosy and familiair, with excellent service, the cook speaks English should you donât speak Italian. Restaurant is very Italian for sure. Had filled pasta, which was excellent value for money.

Had a fantastic meal here. Horse meat carpaccio with a stellar cheese was my main, and it was GREAT. The menu is divided in classic and modern...both very good. Good wine and a fantastic host/server, who gave us great tips for other restaurants. Definitely going back next in Bologna.
