Having driven past it for years we decided to stop for lunch. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place wasnât busy so a perfect time to relax on our way back from Waihi. We ordered pizza and fries and a couple of cold drinks. The food was awful, Pizza base wasnât cooked and was stodgy , topping had no flavour at all and was also undercooked. Fries also undercooked !! It was as if the kitchen was in a hurry to close, looked like we were last order for lunch. I would Definately not recommend eating here. Instead of finding an historic pub full of character we found a bland place with bad food.

We stopped here after looking in the sushi shop and the bakery just opposite. Reasonably priced, friendly service. Kids enjoyed gingerbread ladies who were wearing bikinis. Good choice of cabinet food, fresh sandwiches. My soup was nice. Would visit again.

We had dinner here with some friends and itâs always pretty good. We had the lamb shanks which was plentiful. Nothing fancy but good wholesome food and plenty of it at a fair price.

Enjoyed lunch here and provided exactly what we were looking for; a pub lunch. Kids menu was great and they enjoyed mini hot dogs and chicken nuggets. Adults meals were well sized, fish was fresh and steak cooked as requested. Meals were served promptly which was great with 2 little ones. Staff friendly and warm.Maybe slightly overpriced.

My family are foodies from way back and have a handful of special treat places we go when finances allow. Falls was always one we loved but it must have changed hands recently. Our lunch meal was average to say the least. The prices have gone up over the last 6 months but were always worth it, due to freshness of fish, quality of meat and delicate, well balanced flavours ... oh and awesome salads. Now the quality is just standard for an expensive meal. $14 per glass of wine is getting up there as well. Im disappointed. Loved this place, but the standards have dropped and chilli has taken the place of fresh and inovative.
