Wellingborough is a market town and borough in Northamptonshire, England, situated about 11 miles (18 km) from the county town of Northampton. The town is situated on the north side of the River Nene, most of the older town is sited on the flanks of the hills above the river's current flood plain. Due to frequent flooding by the River Nene, the town was mostly built above the current level of the flood plain. Originally named "Wendelingburgh", the settlement was established in the Saxon period and is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name of "Wendelburie". The town was granted a royal market charter in 1201, by King John of England.

Great food, great staff, the Turkish wine was also great, as was the sensible bill!The Niwan has great reviews, because it it really good.It is unlikely that we will be in the area anytime soon, but if we are we will be back..However, be warned the portions are generous.

The upstairs restaurant part of this kebab house is a little hidden gem. Offering a well priced and varied menu, the food is all fresh and really tasty. They provide a lovely selection of bread and dips on the tables and the portion size of the meals is very generous. Lovely atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff who were more than happy to accommodate our large group and celebrations.

Sorry but after reading such great reviews about this Indian couldnât wait to try but such a disappointment, the korma curry was so sweet you could only taste the desiccated coconut, the onion bargee was soggy and the peshwari Nan was tasteless we found no currants etc only a bit of sweet coconut so overall a let downHi Jackie T,I am appalled seeing this review. From February until the end of June i had been away myself, I heard that there was staff shortage at this time while away and had been quite Chaotic in the Takeaway. Rest assure everything is back to normal and will be making amends. been back 2 weeks and seem to have caught up with everything.Hope to see you again and make things right.
