This is a really good Lebanese restaurant, authentic, tasty and fresh. It is located just down the street from the Belvoir Theatre and great for a pre-show meal, however its a short walk up a really steep hill to the theatre. Not great if you have a fully belly of food!

If you despise Middle Eastern Food, you should still try this restaurant. Yes, we had a voucher which allowed us to share five different aspects of the menu: bites, smalls, bigs, sides and desert. This strategy turned out to be optimal as it allowed as a real range of what the restaurant could produce. For the bites, you would be foolish to pass up the pita bread with a dip. (Actually I could have continued to order pita bread and work my way through all available dips.) The pita bread comes hot out of the oven, light and flaky. The smoked eggplant dip was delicious with not a hint of the unpleasant aftertaste featured by inferior dips. A side of wood fire green beans was a surprise since this is often a humble vegetable for a good reason. But my biggest surprise came with dessert. Given the option, I never order dessert. I am bereft of anything resembling a sweet tooth. But the recommended ricotta and rhubarb came as a shock. Nothing cloying sweet about it, simply a lovely way to end the meal. Actually every course far exceeded my expectations. I should also commend the service which was extremely helpful and efficient. Go for a long lunch or dinner. If you are disappointed, think about giving up food.

Efendy means gentleman in old Turkish, but everyone is welcome here. Located on the corner of Darling and Elliott Streets, in a historic sandstone Victorian mansion, Efendy is a modern Turkish restaurant, complete with a basement bar, run by Istanbul-born
Had dinner there last night for hubbys bday. Had the feast menu and was so much food we could barely finish it. The bread tasted like pretzels and were hot and fresh, yummy with the dips. The lamb was so tender & smoky. But the dessert - omg.Would make the 2hour trip from our house just for the dessert. Amazing! The staff were probably the most attentive we have really seen in Australia and the glasses were never empty. The waitress even sung my husband happy birthday which made it really special

We (two US tourists and their 20-something son) enjoyed a late breakfast/brunch here on a weekend. We were seated outside, in the back garden -- the table a bit too close to any server who needed to get into the back garden, but that put us within range to keep hailing them and asking further menu questions, which they cheerfully answered. Our son told us that one of the highlights of the menu is Israeli shakshuka -- eggs in a tomato sauce spiced with peppers, cumin and onions. I ordered a gluten-free version (I have celiac disease) -- which basically meant "without toast" -- and it was great. The other members of my party ordered different things, but were all happy with what they were given. A good brunch place, apparently...

Four of us ate here last night and we were delighted with this restaurant. Service was good and every dish was fresh, colourful and made with fresh ingredients. It would probably be really hot here during summer but thatâs a minor issue. Parking can be a problem but thatâs just the area not the restaurant.
