One of those places you stumble across and feel really glad you did. Reasonably priced with friendly host and lovely laid back, bistro-type atmosphere. Palestinian beer and food on offer - we had the upside down meal. The host took time to explain the history of the restaurant and his business and his father's influence.

It is frequenty crowded but that's becasue the locals cherish the excellent fresh hummus. Try the hummus with ful (broad bean) option.I wish they would make it vegan though as is the vegan options are really good.Sells local bear on tap and great lemonade. You can also take away the hummus in a pita bread and have it at the Sira pub next to Sira cafe at the alley just next to the hummus place. It's very authentic and at walking distance from Jaffa gate, YMCA, Mamila shopping center and the city center.

First impressions werenât good with restaurant being mostly empty however, it was relatively early.Menu did not look that exciting to be honest and lack of local food was a bit disappointing. However, first impressions were wrong and food was well cooked, tasty and service was extremely good.

Must book in advance! Atalya Ein Mor was born and raised in the picturesque village of Ein Kerem. Following her work in renowned restaurants and years of preparing food from a simple need to create, she decided to combine exquisite food, breathtaking view
Dining with Atalya is an unforgettable experience that you will want to share with your friends and family because words cannot do her hospitality justice. I was lucky enough to be invited to a dinner hosted by Atalya at her lovely home for a close friend and the meal was easily one of the best I have ever had. However, to comment just on the food alone would be a disservice to Atalya, as the experience encompasses far more than just a meal. Beginning with cocktails and a sunset view from her roof, Atalya was a cultural ambassador for Ein Kerem, describing the historical, cultural, and culinary significance of her beloved home town. And this unique joy and attention to detail carried over into the meal, a multi-course feast that fully displayed all the region has to offer. From ceviche to spinach in phyllo to fresh fish and lamb chops with tzatziki, during each small course Atalya told us charming stories about her quests throughout Ein Kerem, Mahane Yehuda, the Old City, and Mea Shearim to find the best local ingredients and rediscover the traditional ways of turning these ingredients into the iconic dishes for which the region is now famous. Even the local wines, paired expertly with each course, were accompanied by tales of similar artisans and their crafts. And of course the meal concluded with some phenomenal desserts with local influences. In short, if you dine at Atalya's you will definitely have a great meal, but you will also come away with a deeper appreciation of the city, the region, and its food and a fantastic memory of an experience that will not soon be forgotten.WOW! you made me excited do much! It's so great to hear you describing your experience hear. Thank you for noticing all the little details and remembering it. And thanks a lot for your will to share it with me and with the readers.I'll be more than happy to host you again- maybe this time for a workshop so you'll be able to cook some of the things back home (but then it comes with out the stories, lol )Best Atalya
