We managed to book a table for a busy Friday night, it was packed, situated on Lygon Street its a Middle Eastern restaurant based on the sharing principle although not compulsory. Portions here are very manageable and you can easily eat the portion yourself. The menu was very well explained and orders taken , we opted for some starters to share, delightful haloumi filled cigars, chicken wings and chicken shish were quickly consumed and delicious. Mains of lamb shoulder , fried Brussels sprouts with zaatar and fried cauliflower with caramelised onions were a great accompaniment. A very bussling lively place again with great service made it a very enjoyable night

I went for the $20 Veggie platter. It arrived as 2 plates, 1 large with loads of dips and a bit of salad on and the other was falafel and bready type portions - I wasn't impressed. The amount of dip on the plate even for a big eater like me was possibly too much and greedy.I found most of the meal unimpressive other than the cauliflower. The paid of us had the same and we both left half of it.Too much of the same thing on the plate. I was displeased with the table for 2 we had - the seating was squeezed together and we were practically sat on our neighbours, hearing all the conversations. The toilet area was vey dirty and if the staff are accessing this - then I wouldn't say it was the most hygienic conditions.

The Manâoushe is the quintessential Lebanese staple. Satisfying and tasty, it is truly a classless commodity. Derived from the Arabic word naâsh which refers to the way the finger tips of the baker âengravesâ the dough. The smell of the manâoushe bi-zaâta
We're so excited that we won "Mama Manoush" raffle run by @munchingmelbourne and got invited to their grand opening party in East Brunswick. The restaurant was absolutely fantastic and well decorated. The table set up, interior design was classic modern.Loved the wall art to show the Lebanese culture and art.The restaurant has two sections: casual fine dine at front and garden bar "Mama Garden" at rear which would make this place as a versatile spot to hold any type of events. The customer staffs and bartenders were all very friendly and tentative.Their first opening to the public is on Thursday, 16 November 2017.There was a coffee booth just next to the bar, I know it was little bit quiet as the day was getting warmer and most people tended to grab beers instead.Since I am the coffee lover, I felt curious to try their coffee.I ordered cappuccino and had a chat with the friendly barista. They are using First Press Coffee Bean (Costa Rica, Brazil and Papua New Guinea) but it was brewed in-house.Though the cappuccino wasn't strong but it was well made, loved the cappuccino. It had balance taste.Ohh if you're not a beer / alcohol lover, I'd suggest to order their homemade fresh lemonade. The taste was fresh, not too sweet and really great. We're so glad that we're invited and joined together with other food bloggers to embrace the peek of all their food few days before they open to public. The food came differently every 10-15 minutes, though they prepared and made in large quantity.Surprisingly, the food had very consistent taste.Towards the end of the grand opening party, they set up a big long table elegantly set up to show all the foods available in Mama Manoush. It was a wonderful experience to be one of the first Melbournians that had the opportunity to see the beautiful presentation to the perfection on the variety of dishes by Mama Mamoush. Finally, they brought two desserts on the floor and a belly dancing performance in the main area of Mama Garden.- Baclava Fingers *Home made baclava fingers dipped in choloage and sprinkled with pistachio nuts.- Baclava Ice Cream *Ice cream cone drizzled in crushed pistachio and raspberry syrup. It was creamy, rich taste and smooth texture. It wasn't too sweet either which was even perfect for the dessert. The highlights on this event were: - the desserts- Lamb Cutlet ** this one is a must to try. The lamb was char grilled and seasoned perfectly. It was very tender, juicy and you didn't even smell the strong lamb. - Lahem Meshwi ** Lamb fillets marinated in olive oil and traditional Lebanese herbs and spices.- Cigar Sticks Cheese (rolled pastry filled with herbs halloumi and mozzarella)Taste: 4.0Service: 4.0Yay: The highlights aboveNay:

Nestled down the small Melbourne Place laneway in Melbourneâs CBD, Sezar was opened in 2013 by Chef Garen Maskal and cousins Aret and Sasoon Arzadian. The restaurant continues to attract local foodies, corporate customers and international visitors in a f
Superb fine dining â perfect for a special night out.We chose Sezar because it was convenient to our mid-city hotel during a visit to Melbourne, and expected to experience rustic peasant food from a culture we hadnât tried before. Instead, we were treated to exquisite modern dishes that, though they may have had an Armenian inspiration, would be a credit to any classy modern restaurant. Expecting that a chef will present his best dishes, the dishes that showcase his talents, his culture, and his establishment, as we have found elsewhere, we extravagantly ordered the 5-course chefâs banquet. We then ordered the matching drinks FOR ONE â at 5 standard drinks, we thought we should share the drinks. WOW! A fantastic gourmet extravaganza! The range of dishes, the subtle nuances of some of the flavours were sensational; the velvety texture of the hommus, with brown butter, was âto die forâ, the best we have ever had; the stuffed zucchini flowers tasted as good as they looked. AND, then the desserts! A fantastic mix of new and old treats â glad we had to walk back to our hotel, and glad we werenât counting the calories.Dominic, the Assistant Manager, and aspiring sommelier, led us through each dish and its components, and introduced the wine that accompanied each dish. The wines themselves took us on an historical and international journey through an extensive range of wines and the cultures they represented, from the chenin blanc from South Africa to the Heathcote, Victoria, white, to the cloudy Georgian amber wine, plus more, and finishing with the superb Portuguese Tokay! A truly special evening! Sezar has one of the most extensive and wide-ranging wine lists of my humble experience, without only covering the traditional European regions, and we thoroughly enjoyed both our culinary and oenological experience.NOTE Though the restaurant usually holds some spaces for âwalk-insâ, donât rely on it â book ahead â we nearly missed out!
