AUTHENTIC Mexican and El Salvadoran FOOD LOTS OF SPANISH ENTREES AND BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY STARTS AT 9:00 Am
This is one of those places that you would drive by and not even give a second glance to. We happened to discover it at the Taste of Oakland Park and decided to come and check it out.The restaurant is a stand-alone building that is non descript. The interior is small, but the staff is very warm and friendly. This restaurant specializes in Mexican and Salvadoran foods. We started our meal with Horchata, which is a blend of rice milk and cinnamon and our first time ever having it. It was YUMMY and comes in a huge glass. Each table is served chips, which were warm and crispy, and a homemade salsa. The salsa was very good. Not too spicy, but has a slight kick. For starters we tried the Sweet Corn Tamales (it was like eating a dessert!) and a bean Pupusa, which is a traditional Salvadoran corn tortilla stuffed with items of your choice. It comes with this wonderful sauce and cabbage mix to be placed on top. It wasn't greasy at all and I would definitely recommend to try it. For the main entries we had the Grilled Chicken Breast that is topped with grilled peppers and onions. The chicken is wonderfully seasoned and I like the fact that it is grilled. It is accompanied with black beans (AMAZING FLAVOR) and a rice that has some mixed vegetables in it. Delicious! The other dish we tried was the Salvadoran Steak in Red Sauce, which is sauteed with onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Highly Recommended! The sauce almost tastes like an Italian tomato sauce and goes well with everything. I even liked it on my chicken. The steak was perfectly cooked as well. This, too, is accompanied with black beans and rice plus fried plantains. Definitely a Winning Dish!Portions are large and we, unfortunately, had no room for dessert. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND coming to check it out. Don't be fooled by looks on the outside, as inside, is definitely a treat for your taste buds!PS - If this review was useful, please click the HELPFUL button on your phone or you can click the THANK YOU button on your computer. We actually stayed at the Westin Hotel & it was part of the hotel. The night was erie, as the whole of Ft. Lauderdale seemed to be absent in anticipation of hurricane Dorian. We were hungry, wanted some good food & didn't want to go far, so we decided to head downstairs to Lona. We went through the hotel lobby & entered a stunning Tequiaria. As we rounded the corner, this gorgeous waitress was standing there ringing in an order & shaking her booty to the incredible DJ.After being sat outside, the same waitress turned out to be ours. Her name was Gernie & she was bubbly, energetic & just happy to serve us! Her suggestions were spot on & we had a fantastic meal! I always love staying at the Westin, but knowing there is such a romantic spot with great staff such as Gernie, we'll be sure to head back to Ft. Lauderdale soon & visit this must go to restaurant!

Rocco's Tacos offers a true taste of Mexico within a fun casual environment. When you first step through the door you become part of the atmosphere, joining a diverse crowd enjoying flavors picked directly from Mexico. Experience guacamole prepared tables
Very popular and trendy spot that you can go to spend money and be seen. The food is nothing to write home about nor is the price. We usually go when there is a special occasion like a birthday that someone is having. Otherwise, meh...better Mexican is found elsewhere.
