This restaurant is a small local restaurant that, as I understand it, has been here for decades. You walk in, place your order and the food was on our table, freshly made in two minutes. Yum! Homemade soft corn tortillas with carne asana and grilled chicken topped with a beautiful homemade salsa of onions, tomatoes and cilantro....so fresh tasting, we went back and ordered more. Two of us ate for $7. We drank water. Great value, great food but don't go for the atmosphere. You'll leave happy.
I have a limit of characters to describe Jenny's Country Kitchen... all I can say it is DELICIOUS!! They have the best breakfast and lunch, they're close for dinner and that gives you a clue they make business just having the restaurant open half a day for 7 days. They greet you with a big smile and the entire staff is awesome!!! Try it... you will not regret it!!!!

I expected my visit & food to be 1st class after all the talk my associates talked about, however, this is what I experienced. 1. My meal was not hot, it was nuke warm at best2. Customer Service sucked3. Restaurant was not cleanI WILL NEVER GO BACK
The owners, Omar and Alma, and their crew (including their polite son) serviced our event as El Camino Mexican Grill were the caterers. The food was wonderful! They prepared a wonderful offering for a continental breakfast and Mexican lunch that was fresh, delicious, and rememberable. The selections were broad and appealed to all.Omar has a passion for Christ, service, and the food he prepares and presents. This caterer is worth contracting as the quality and value is excellent!I imagine the restaurant exhibits the same quality and experience. Outstanding dining! You will not be disappointed!

Their chicken street tacos are very good. Had a bowl of Cocteles Del Camarones (shrimp, avacodo, tomatoes, onions, in a tasty tomato based chilled broth) that was refreshing and really wonderful!!! We came back another night to have same meal again. Nice place for families.

I usually prefer small scary taquerias, but this place resides in a old fast food place (perhaps a old Tastyfreeze or der Wienerschnitzel) which attenuates its scariness. However, the tacos are good authentic taqueria quality. The fish tacos are the standout, especially for the price, although the various meat tacos were very good as well. They even have extra special prices on certain days of the week. The salsa condiment table is nice with various peppers, salsas and onions. There is a very unusual tasty bright orange pepper sauce that was worth trying.

A week ago, I tweeted I was craving "Gringo" style tacos for Taco Tuesday. One of my followers asked if I ever tried Arturo's Puffy Taco (or simply Puffy Taco) in Whittier. I replied that I had not, and was going to save it for the next "taco Tuesday". Tuesday could not come fast enough. Last Saturday, I was in nearby La Habra dropping off my dog to the groomer, and this place was only 10 minutes away. It was early (10:00 am) but never too early for a taco!We arrived about 10:15, and the place was still dormant. One sign said "open" and the sign at the dining room said "closed". We walked up and they were open, and since it wasn't busy the guy (I think it's Arturo?) chatted us up about the food, and what's popular. The family is originally from San Antonio, Texas, and he brought the family recipe over to start this restaurant. The ground beef (or the original Puffy) is the most popular, and partially because it's cheaper than the other tacos. It has ground beef, potato, green chilies and other spices, topped with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese and taco salsa. We ordered the original Puffy, and the other 4 Puffy tacos: Chicken, Carnitas (pork), Asada (steak), and the Carne Guizada, which is like a beef stew. Unlike the other meats, which is served dry this one is gravy like. Of the 5 tacos, the Guizada was my favorite, which I could have eaten 5 of those just by myself. The prices are not dirt cheap, but runs about $2.60 a per taco on the average. $18 for 5 tacos and 2 medium drinks. They're messy, and yes, they are puffy. You can't let the tacos sit too long or they will get soggy, and you will need the fork to scoop up the ingredients that falls out of the puffy shell. The restaurant also serves puffy tostadas and other "Tex-Mex" favorites. No free drink refills here, so go large, or expect to pay up to 75 cents for a refill. OH, and it's Cash Only. If you forget cash, there's an ATM in the dining room. I heard this place gets busy crowded, so get here early.

I tried out this restaurant as a result of a recommendation from a coworker. Apparently my coworker either really doesn't know what good Mexican food tastes like or just doesn't have a discerning palate. The food was awful!! The restaurant was dirty and dingy. I felt like I needed to take a shower after I ate there. A friend accompanied me on this trip and she had the same experience as I did. I would much rather eat at " Cilantro's" just down the street.

This unpretentious Mexican eatery across the Doubletree hotel makes its mark for the delicious food and great service. Enchiladas with either Chipotle or Mole Poblano sauces are out of this world. The shrimp with chipotle are magnificent. The beef with mole equally outstanding as is the chicken and cheese quesadillas with mole. Carnitas were outstanding as well and as advertised with great chicharrón. The tortilla soup for starters is amazing even when you order a small one. Mechiladas are great like a Bloody Mary made with beer. Service was simply super friendly. We need to repeat here over and over.

This can be a casual shorts, family type of a place, or dress up in Sunday clothes. Our service was good and we really enjoyed experiencing some traditional Mexican food with a twist. The guacamole is delicious. The tacos, so yummy, and the bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious. Be prepared to be a little adventurous, as they highlight different styles, but it is fun to try new things.
