My favorite dish!! They have great food here. I've been here several times. I love the Caldo and the shrimp cocktail. They give you lots of shrimp!!! Also they are very good at serving your food your way. Very clean. Great service. Nice atmosphere.
Las Playas Restaurant is a good typical Mexican restaurant.Indeed, when we have been there with my family, we were the only non Hispanic customers.Staff is friendly (waitress trying to learn French with us), service is fast. Food is quite good and not expensive. Choice is large.A good experience, if you are not too afraid to have dinner with a group of young guys drinking (very fast) their Corona beers with some salt put on their hand.Try it if you are on the way from or to Sequoia NP.
Went to this restaurant very hungry after a day of hiking at Sequoia National Park. The food is really good and abundant, and best of all quick.
After hearing so many good this about this little restaurant, I had anticipated nothing less than greatness. I was very disappointed with the bland and watered down meal I ended up with. The day we are there, they had already "ran out" of various menu items. Maybe that's why they had added water to the other items to stretch them out. One server was pretty good but several people were also working who seem to have came in off the street and did not know what they were doing. In particular there was one young woman working in pajamas and a sweat shirt. She was more intent on taking care of a man sitting towards the back, who must have been a boyfriend or even her husband. She kept taking things to him and running her fingers through his hair and kissing him. Without washing her hands she would occasionally came back and wait on other customers. Food was slow to arrive, with about a five minute gap between the four people I was eating with. The owners of this restaurant must have another line of work as I cannot see how this place could generate much profit.

We used to live in Tulare and always loved eating at Chilito's. Passing through Tulare was a perfect excuse to drop by of our favorite restaurants. The atmosphere reminds one of a 'south of the border' restaurant and is distinctively decorated. It is a medium size restaurant but seems to cater to large family gatherings and parties. It is not unusual to see extended families of 12 or more. Chips are always served first with a tasty salsa and refried beans. My favorite dish is the Chicken Fajita Burrito. Chicken and vegetables are grilled with rice, beans, onions, sweet peppers. It is great. One almost always sees the owner/manager who runs a tight ship. Expect great service and great food!

I've been here a few times and really enjoy getting the vegetarian burrito with chicken, its sometimes a little greasy, i think they go heavy on the oil when sautéing the vegetables, i know it sounds silly getting it with chicken but I really like it. They always let me sub rice for a fresh salad. This last time though I decided to try the black beans and they were not good. I mean not....good...I've tasted right out of the can better, they were watery and had no flavor. Everything else was good, and we also tried the deep fried ice cream for the first time and it was excellent!! I'll probably be back, but will be passing on beans for more salad.

My husband grew up in California with true Mexican food and when he moved to Ohio realized we do not have anything close to it. When we make it back to California every so often we make sure we get their family dinner. The chicken and carniras are great. There is nothing like fresh made corn tortillas. The family pack we but also includes rice, beans, potato salad and salsa with the tortillas for under $40 and it feeds 10 of us. I love their Horchatta. This location is clean and the majority of the workers are nice.

Place was bright and clean. Service was good. Varied menu which boded well for the kiddos. Food seemed reasonably authentic Mexican with a salsa bar. Open floor plan. Place your order at the counter and they bring the food out to you, so not a sit down upscale restaurant.
