Reviews on Mexican food in Troncones, Guerrero, Mexico. Troncones is a relatively undeveloped, uncrowded beach village located about 20 miles (32 km) north west of Zihuatanejo on the coast of the state of Guerrero. It is located in the municipality of La Unión de Isidoro Montes de Oca and has a population of about 593 people (2005 census). Hammocks and palm trees are in most yards, chickens roam the streets and loud nightlife is limited to very few weekly events, making for quiet nights. Some local hotels and restaurants offer special events such as Movie Nights and Dance Parties, mostly during the Oct-May high season. On Sundays, El Burro Boracho has shows of Mexican folkdance.

Out door dining on the ocean. Martha's has been serving Majahua for over 20 years. Fresh seafood daily caught right beside the restaurant. Come as you are and enjoy the great atmosphere!
We couldn't get all of our group to come for dinner, so several of us came for breakfast. The fruit plate was a huge plate of oranges, apples, pineapple, cucumber(?) or something similar that was unexpectedly good in the mix. The others had typical Mexican egg dishes and great fresh orange juice. One had hot cakes with caramel sauce. I asked if they had fish caught that morning (now was 9 am) they said yes so I had a whole fresh red snapper that was delicious. I am normally not a fish fan. One of our group so enjoyed the handmade tortillas that we got an order to go.

Majahua Palms offers a fusion of Mexican and international food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner may be the few times our guests encounter each other due to the many possibilities the resort and the region offer. Healthy food, cooked with authentic and fresh
Great place to spend the day. We did not stay at the hotel, but we did eat at the restaurant. The food was excellent, being close to the sea, the fish was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed a view of the ocean while we ate, which always makes the food taste better. After lunch we explored the shore line and found some sea shells.

This is a small but comfortable open-air restaurant. They have a good variety of food, with some really delicious dishes. The chicken mole is outstanding, and they have great seafood too. The margaritas are some of the best around, made with fresh ingredients. They have a huge TV which is only on by request, but is nice if you wanted to watch a sport event.

It is a tourist place where you can spend a pleasant family moment and enjoy a view of the sea and if you love it you can dance with good service
We had a great dinner at La Morenita. Manuel and his family are wonderful hosts. The Tuna tartar was well presented and fresh and flavorful. Salad of fresh greens, olives, tomato with light vinaigrette was perfect and the Tequila shrimp prepared tableside was excellent. Hibiscus and Tangerine margaritas were very nice.Plantains and sweet potatoes in a yummy sugary glaze made a perfect dessert. It was fun talking with Manuel and learning about his family. We will be back!

Highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is well thought out and served in a timely manner. Salads are fresh and crisp. Fish is nicely done and they are very vegetarian friendly. The live music on Wednesdays is great! The restaurant is well kept, outdoors under the trees with a relaxed but attentive atmosphere. This one of our favourite restaurants in town.

I've lived in Mexico for over 2 years now and have been hankering for a good burger for a long time. Well, Orbe's delivers the goods! Terrific cheeseburger served with mushrooms and onions. 2die4! Tuesday nights are ribs night and the place is always packed. Good bang for the buck!

Great local place in the center of Troncones. My husband and I shared the huachinango (whole local red snapper often fried or filleted). It was the perfect size for two people to share and came with rice and vegetables. At 200 pesos ($10 US) itâs an incredible deal. But the size varies and the waiters will either show you the exact fish or tell you the price of the fish available. Drinks are delicious and prices fairly. The waiters are friendly and many speak English. I mean who doesnât want to eat and drink on the beach with your feet in the sand. You can even take a dip in the ocean in between courses should you desire. They also have live music every Saturday night. Havenât been but I hear itâs fun.

I was really looking forward to experiencing this place. We went twice. The first time we had chiles en nogada and tacos. The chiles en nogada was cold (not made to order just sort of heated up) and the tacos okay but just okay. The second time was a big mistake. It was a special "Guerrero" night and we reserved a table a few days ahead. We paid a lot of money for a set menu. It was the most expensive dinners we've experienced. We thought it would be some really good food. When we arrived it was really unclear what the meal included. Took a long time to figure that out and I had to go search for someone to help explain things. We were brought small plates of different things mass produced. It was awful. There was fatty meats and pozole and a few other things. Not worth the price which was I think 500 pesos each not including drinks. Then the entertainment came to demonstrate dancing. They were good but it just seemed so fake. That night it was tourist trap and I couldn't wait to get out of there. At one point, one of the dancers knocked our table over - drinks and everything smashed to the floor. We were not asked if we wanted another drink to replace the smashed ones. Dessert came and was not very good. We got out of there. It was like an all inclusive or a cruise ship experience. Very uncomfortable for us.

Not exactly sure why Chenhoâs isnât as good as years past, but the food just isnât special anymore. Weâve tried a variety of dishes on two different evenings, but the thrill is gone. Too bad, this used to be our favorite spot in Troncones.
