Tacos El Sol is a small Mexican eatery out of the way on East 6th Street. It is a Topeka favorite and always makes the "Best of Topeka' list. Tacos El Sol is known for its delicious food at reasonable prices as well as its friendly staff. You order at the counter and then enjoy! Steak and potato burritos, beef enchiladas and chicken tacos are my personal favorites. The chips and salsa or white cheese dip are also good! Always well worth the drive even if it is out of the way!

We eat here whenever we choose Mexican food. The food is great, the service is good most of the time, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Prices are pretty average with $10 -$12 per entree. You get a lot of food ! We usually go there for lunch and order from the lunch menu which gives you plenty of food. They usually have 99 cent margaritas at lunchtime too which are excellent. Have had regular margaritas which are good anytime! You won't be disappointed!

I found this place when searching "restaurants along route" on Google maps! What a great hole-in-the-wall find!!! Chips were fresh, salsa was SO tasty I wanted to drink it!!! We had tacos, carnitas, steak ranchero, flautas, guacamole and everything was SO good! Nice, hot temperature of food and seasoned so well! Now if they started to make their own tortillas it would be even more amazing!!!

Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made
Wife had fish tacos, I had the SW chicken tacos, not impressed, items came out COLD, and we were there 11/2 hrs for lunch!! It took frickin forever!! We will NEVER go back, stay away from this place, much better choices in Topeka to spend your food dollars....

We have been going to Cafe Holiday for about 15 years. It has gone through some recent changes (good ones), in it's decor. Nice quiet neighborhood, away from all the traffic. We usually eat the authentic Mexican dishes. In my opinion, they have the best salsa in Topeka. It is a homemade recipe. They do have other types of food, such as sandwiches that are HUGE and delicious. Also serve breakfast on Saturdays. Family owned and operated. Good, hard working family. If you are looking for beer or margaritas, this is not the place, but if you are looking for good food, this is a great place to go.

We arrived around 7 PM on a Saturday evening and were immediately seated. The restaurant was about 2/3 full. The service was quick and friendly. The food was topical Mexican food and we all enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was nice and casual. Iâm sure we will return soon.

I also get the Mexican tacos. Very simple and always delicious. The cheese dip and guacamole are good. Casual place, good service, locally owned. Outdoor area small, but nice. Dogs welcome on the porch.

It's a moderately-priced place
Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night. Not crowded so no wait. Waitress was really friendly and efficient. Food was fabulous! Everything tasted wonderful & arrived hot! Our daughters tacos had come out with lettuce (we ordered them with cheese only) and our waitress quickly made sure they were fixed as they were ordered. The manager even stopped by to apologize. Overall good service and really good food.
