El Rey is located in what was formerly Salsa's. It's a tiny place with Mexican food to go (there are picnic tables outside). The tacos and tamales are wonderful. They currently have a 100 health score.

Someone complained about no sour cream on their food. After they left the staff talked about them for the next ten minutes we were there. Our food was as ordered, their fountain machine was having issues so they were out of several of their sodas. Their tea was very weak.

Stopped in for dinner on our way back to Florida. The food here is fantastic. The burritos were wonderful. The migo fries are a must. Service was as good as the food. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. They do not serve alcohol.

Busy restaurant, staff always checking on us. Loved our funny waitstaff, Jose Chiapa - adorable! Good food, good margs (Skinny & Cadillac). Hubby had carnitas. I had a taco & enchilada. Weâd come back! This is a hidden gem we found on our road trip. (But donât stay next door!)

The food at this restaurant is prepared on demand in a subway-style where you choose various ingredients. There are many options for ingredients, but tofu is not available. Surcheros has an extensive menu of hot sauces and salsas on a salsa bar. We have visited this location several times and it is consistently good. On this visit we noticed their most recent inspection score was 100%. Your comments are very much appreciated. El Metate is a welcoming place. Very colorful décor (check out the vibrant carvings on the chairs). The tunes ranged from Shakira to Norteno. The clientele was a boisterous biracial mix of travelers, laborers, families.On the downside: service was slow (I had 3 different servers), margos were modest, and mole was runny. But overall, El Metate was fun and affordable. I asked the cashier âQue es el metate en ingles?â He pointed to what I think was a grind stone of some sort. FYI.
