HabÃamos venido a esta restaurante un par de ocasiones, varios años atrás. AtraÃdos por el viejo esplendor del hotel que lo alberga, entramos al gran espacio con el techo forrado de madera. La decadencia es evidente en la gotera que ha maltratado la madera en una parte. De la comida no quisiera ni hablar. Las chalupas poblanas, en las que es difÃcil fallar, chorreaban de aceite; las tortillas, nada delicadas; las salsas, escasas y picosas; el pollo, casi inexistente. El mole del plato principal ocultaba su falta de calidad en el picante. El mesero, despistado, nunca trajo pan o tortillas para el mole. El filete que también pedimos era de carne correosa, difÃcil de comer. Realmente, una decepción, pues no encontramos nada recuperable. Lo económico del menú niña debe ser sinónimo de mala calidad o preparación deficiente. Una entrada, dos platos fuertes y una jarra de agua de melón, poco menos de 400 pesos.

El restaurante tiene una ubicación privilegiada ya que se encuentra en el Portal, justo frente al parque Juárez. Me parece un buen sitio para la comida familiar. El menu es variado sea para almuerzo o comida.

Agradable sitio en esta temporada vienen bien las palapas. En cuanto a la comida la especialidad de pollos a la leña muy bien condimentados. El clásico ceviche peruano y los sanguches están presentes.

We are a delicious and typical Mexican restaurant. Our specialty is the pozole, although we also offer excellent Mexican antojitos such as chalupas, chanclas, tostadas, tlacoyos, steamed tacos and cochinita pibil tortas and panuchos.

I visited Pozoleria La Tehuacanera when I was in Tehuacán for a wedding, and it was incredible! I had pozole verde and a chancla, and I would highly recommend them both. People at my table also ordered the tlacoyo and cochinita pibil, and they loved those, too. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I especially liked the vintage calendar posters that belonged to the ownerâs grandfather.If you are looking for a great meal and friendly service, this place is for you!

Best ribs cooked over an open BBQ in front of you. All the meat is fantastic and a combo platter is a goof way to go. If Chiles en Nogeles is in season - order it as an appetizer.

La Greca serves the best Oaxacan food in Tehuacan and is definitely one of the places you need to go for dinner if in town. The restaurant is a few blocks from the center of town near the bus station building. The restaurant is very quaint with a fountain and garden. Most of the food is grilled in front of you and is very tasty. The BBQ's ribs are some of the most delicious you will taste. Stick with any of the meats as they are all fresh and cooked on the grill. I usually have the mixed meat platter which includes ribs, chicken and beef. The guacamole is just the right consistency and spice level.This is the best value restaurant in town and a favorite for locals. You will not see many tourists in this restaurant and if you speak no Spanish, at least bring a basic language guide so you can interpret the menu. The manager's name is Genaro and he will help make your dining experience fabulous. La Greca has excellent wines for a very reasonable price which is unusual for Tehuacan restaurants. A bottle of Casa Diablo or El Toro will run less than $10 which is 1/3 what the other restaurants on the same street charge. Finish off the dinner with the ice cream which is very light and tasty.

Casa Vieja is an authentic old Mexican restaurant with great food and service. It is quite centrally located. Their breakfast "Casuela con machaca" is the best I've ever eaten! One just feels good to go in there and find a table --- it's "casual elegant," and the prices are surprisingly reasonable.
