Reviews on Mexican food in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico. A tradition dating back to the city's origins as a colonial mining capital, silver is the focal point of Taxco shopping, and indeed the most popular tourist pursuit. All around the picturesque town you'll find sellers of silver finery, from open air markets to metal workshops to high end boutiques.

We have been to this restaurant throughout the years - mostly because we can trust the food! We found a very changed menu - even included "sliders" - which we found unsettling given that we expected more Mexican traditional food! I guess they are trying hard to cater to the international tourist! The menu choices were pretty limited and although the food was just average, the presentation was really top notch! And you can be pretty sure that, since this is a hotel restaurant, that cleanliness and food prep are probably pretty well watched by the staff.

right at zocalo so have a great view of santa prisca, and very good taco & enchilada variations, some unusual (with mangoes) but still great. 80s gringo music. service can be a bit slow when ordering certain types of food, but otherwise okay.

On the main plaza in front of the main church
It is great to climb up to the last floor of the building and enjoy another excellent meal. The restaurant has a magnificent menu full of delicious dishes. The view of Santa Prisca and Plaza Borda while you enjoy their food makes it an optimal complement for such a good dining experience.

We were on an all day tour with Monopolis Tours out of MX City. Drove down 19th century main street in Taxco after visiting Plateria Moreno silver shop. Parked and walked to El Atrio Restaurant for lunch. Gave us a set price menu with three soups, three meat dishes and either water or coffee for 165 Pesos. We tried the chicken and vegetable soups and both were good. I had pork chops and my spouse chickenand these were very tasty. Everyone was offered a piece of chocolate cake. We had three glasses of jimica between us instead of water or coffee and were billed 35Pesos for each glass. We wanted to pay by credit card, but advised the machine did not work. Overall the food was good, the service ok and the cost higher than it should have been. Too many other interesting restaurants in town, many on rooftops, to go to this restaurant, if you have a choice.

We have eaten there many times in the past few years and continues to be excellent. The chilaquiles guajillo is a delicious dish and one of our favorites. The service is polite and attentive, but is respectful of your time as you linger over your coffee.

Frente al palacio municipal
The Aladino Pizza place, is very simple and offers pizza's in different sizes. The roof terrace is really nice and has a nice view and the service was good.Prices are cheap. However, knowing a good italien Pizza - This is not a good place to go. The pizza's are simple and the toppings are mainly from cans instead of being really fresh. So for a snack okay, but to enjoy a really good pizza not recommendable.

We had brunch at this very nice restaurant. The decor is nice and the views are fabulous. The service was excellent. I highly recommend their brunch offerings. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. The prices are also great. It is one of the very best restaurants in Taxco. You will definitely enjoy eating here and return frequently. Their menu is extensive.

When you are in Taxco do yourself a favor. Head here for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or all 3 like I often do. The most relaxing lovely place with Oaxacan tapestries, a soothing fountain, calming beautiful lighting, absolutely delicious food. Wonderful service. Not always fast service, but warm kind service. You might wait a while for your food. Once you taste it you will realize it was because they were doing it right. I have been coming here for years and think of it when I am back in the States. Donât miss it on a trip to Taxco. Come with time to relax and donât miss out in one of their delicious soups. Request warm blue tortillas and at least 2 of their salsas.

A good choice in Taxco! I was with my family and had a very nice lunch. The place is fine and has a nice view. The food is above average. Simple yet well cooked and presented. The service is very good. The price is a good deal. I do recommend this as a good option while in Taxco.... also, located right a few steps away from the Sta Prisca Church.

Rosa Mexicano is a real hidden gastronomic treasure in Taxco, Guerrero. You have to walk inside the Hotel Boutique Pueblo Lindo and walk upstairs so you will find one of the best restaurants in the town. We ordered a cheese table that was fairly good (honestly I know better ones, but this was ok); but the truly remarkable moment of the night was when the âmole rosaâ arrived to our table. It has a beautiful pink color that is given due to the usage of the beetroot when the mole is prepared. If you donât know what âmoleâ is, it is a MUST. Mole is a traditional sauce used in the Mexican cuisine, and itâs originally from Puebla and Oaxaca (it depends on the ingredients used). It is a little spicy, but you will love it. The mole sauce is served with a generous portion of chicken breast, some rice, and a âtamalâ (if you also donât know what a tamale is, you have to come to Mexico more often!). Iâm absolutely sure that you will love the âmole rosaâ; also they have a good selection of craft beers made by various microbreweries around the country. Ask for a taxi from your hotel concierge so you can get to the restaurant, because the streets are very difficult to walk. Get early to the restaurant, because they close at 10pm. Have your meal outside the restaurant, so you can enjoy the beautiful view of some cathedrals and the whole town. Excellent place for a romantic dinner with your couple.
