This is only my 2nd negative review or 200+ reviews. It has to be pretty upsetting to make me cry out. I had high hopes due to other reviews. I think someone is stuffing the ballot box or I got them on their WORST DAY EVER. Starting off, the chips; every Mexican place provides free chips and salsa. Not this one, $2.00. The chips were brown, thick, and flavorless. The salsa, ladeled out in micrograms was lousy. We had the basic burrito (steak) and the machacha burrito. The basic burrito comes nude (a burrito on a plate- no cheese, sauce, rice, beans, or anything) it is a few strips of meat, and lots of cilantro, and a few whole beans. The machacha, well, if there was a criminal charge ... tortilla, eggs, ONE green thing (not sure if part of a cilantro leaf or a sliver of bell pepper) one red dot (maybe a piece of pico de gallo that fell in?) some shredded flavor free beef. I have tasted air that had more flavor. This thing was so blah that I tried the squeeze bottle of green juice (didn't help), the red bottle (didn't help), sprinkled red pepper (didn't help), salt and pepper (didn't help), essentially nothing helped, it was the blandest, dullest, most pathetic burrito I have ever tried to eat (didn't finish it). Taco Bell beats it by a mile. I am 64 and I have lived in LA and AZ and traveled to Mexico and Texas and Calif and I have NEVER had a more diappointing burrito. Even the eggs had no flavor. The water had ice in it (okay, that's a good thing). Parking is no problem (strip mall). The tiles on the floor were dirty, the rug was dirty and it was 12 noon and they opened at 10 and it was Sunday. Mexican music (good), service was perfunctory, no re-check after service, no bring the bill, had to go to the register, and glad I did. Their liquor was set on the counter, maybe 7 bottles, piled next to the register, and the kitchen/register is all one space, so you got to see the dirty rags, the cutting board, the crowded counter, the ugly pipes, the sink, you get the idea. No kitchen looks nice, but this one was really ugly. To be fair, it is a small space so the register/kitchen is crammed, but if it is on display, people, do some painting or cleaning... the restroom was unisex and airplane sized (try and turn around, we dare you). Booths only (not suitable for wheelchairs or people on crutches) but entry is easy (flat) and disabled parking in front. Prices were $7 for that joke of a burrito x 2. Chips $2. Lesson: expensive, since I could have purchased 20 tacos at Jack in the Box and been more satisfied. Really nothing to recommend here, folks, sorry to say. I read the other reviews and was looking FORWARD to this place...either I got them on their worst day ever, or.... puzzling still was there were 4 or 5 actual Hispanics eating there, so what gives? Must be neighbors. Not sure where the next closest Mexican place is, probably Mohawk (next big arterial east) but worth the drive and the money to go elsewhere. There is one up on Harlow (north and west around the roundabout) that may be better. I gave my burrito to my brother and asked him what he thought and he winced and said "this is awful" and I said "so it's not me?" he said "heck no, this is pathetic", he said his was better, but only marginally so. If it wasn't so lousy I would go back and see if I got them on a bad day. But, I would re-try a D restaurant but not an F This baby is an F, I want to dry a D- but the only thing I can hang the hat on is parking, ice in the water and Mexican music and that is not enough.

small parking lot next to busy gas station on 42nd side of 42nd and Main (north of the intersection), small menu, lots of sauces, average portion size, but has strong fan base, lots of people swear by its beany burritos (large size, lots of beans), sauces, menu items. Its one of those places where you go "so?" or "that's great", never bad, but you have to like that cilantro heavy style with chewy beans kind of burrito, not the smeary slimy bean kind that you get in most Mexican restaurants and Taco Bell. It is not bland, it has its own taste, but it could be bland if you don't kick it up with hot sauce. Brother and sister love it, I don't like it, so, give it a try and see where you fit in.

We went here for our adults sons birthday. He lives in NYC so he knows something about great places to eat and he says this place could survive NYC. Novo has a great atmosphere, good service and outstanding food. I had the best pork chop I have ever eaten. So much flavor and cooked to perfection. You have to try the shrimp and onion ring appetizer. Only negative of this restaurant is it gets loud when full of people.

This restaurant was so good! Service was wonderful, friendly, quick and good all around. Enchiladas were very tasty, the drink 'shaggy's potion' (blended=yum) was amazing! Loved the atmosphere, food, and will definitely come again.

Stopped by to grab a bite to eat. Margarita was no bueno. Ordered the pollo asada and it was disgusting. Tasted like chicken was marinated in soy sauce. No grilled chicken flavor whatsoever. My meal came with a Chile rellano, the egg product they used tasted processed and microwaved. Won’t be back.

On north side of Main at 19th, right across from where south A and Main merge. Parking in rear. 1 disabled spot. Entry flat (no stairs or ramp) EZ for disabled. Clean, smallish with 9 tables and chairs (no booths), 3 metal outside tables and chairs w/umbrellas, Busy drive thru. Small almost galley kitchen. Restrooms clean. Paper plates and plastic forks and a few plastic plates.Addnl sauces red is musky, green is cilantro flavored (chilled) brought to table w/food. S& P on table, Walk up and order, they bring to table, 7 breakfast items, 32 regulars (mostly ala carte). No chips and salsa appetizer. Choice of refried or regular beans. Small soda selections in fridge or fountain, M-F 7am-8pm, Sa 7-4, Sun 8-4. Food was B, or B-. Not boring, not rocking but flavorful. My burrito (ala carte) supreme had steak, cheese, green & red pepper, onions, beans in flour wrap. Friends at table all rated a "B", good sized burrito but not filling. Needs a side or chips appetizer to bring up. Burrito was $7.95. Large Nachos were $9.25, Burritos come with rice, but I asked for none, others had rice and were happy with theirs. Americanized Mexican, slightly leaning on spices like cilantro. Nothing any of us had was hot or spicy. Caveat: I am from Los Angeles and dined in Arizona and Mexico, so, I have less affection for Americanized Mexican than most of my neighbors. If my food doesn't bite me back with a kick I feel cheated, so take that for what it is worth. If you like typical US Mexican this is not a bad place at all, but order more than 1 item or go home feeling a little hungry,

Food horrible! Service horrible! Nothing good at all! Beans and rice were dry and crusty. Tacos al pastor were like nothing I have ever had before. I literally left my food after I tasted it. My server while really nice did not really grasp English and my Spanish is horrible. Yes I am a Latina who does not speak Spanish. I tried to order a double grey goose on the rocks and she Had me follow her to the bar to point out exactly what vodka was when I told her a double on the rocks she actually brought me two glasses of vodka with no ice. The food that I did try had such horrible taste to it that I could not eat it, it had a funny smell to. Never again.
