I thought this place was only a supermarket until someone told me that they serve great food there. We ordered Tacos Pastor. We ate our food inside which was awesome as they bring fresh guacamole to you as well as different sauces. The tacos are inexpensive about $1.25 a piece. I love this place and any time I am passing through Shelbyville, I want to go there.

now i'm a hardcore burrito fan, and I don't get Taco Bell often as we live in England, so when we got to a U.S. Taco Bell and the wife said "i'm having a nacho bell grande' I said 'whats that?' she said its awesomeness, ok so I ordered one too.... amazing, can't fault it, everything i've had from Taco Bell is good, and its reasonably priced too. bang on!
I've eaten here many times. They have most of the traditional Mexican fare...tortas, tacos, sopes, huaraches, enchilada, burritos, etc. Chips are the traditional type and very fresh and good. Although everything I've had here is good...probably best to stick with something made with their own homemade tortillas. Their tacos are great and probably their best thing. Staff is very friendly with Mr. Gonzales there most times I've been here. Best enjoyed with a nice cold, refreshing Dos Equis or Corona. You won't go wrong with a meal here..

Had a party of 6 ...all loved their food. One had a flaming pineapple or something; just delicious. I had a poblanos plate ...what is called chile rellenos elsewhere (chiles stuffed with cheese, battered and fried. SO GOOD! Decorated for Christmas so esp nice for reuniting with old friends. They have a creamy green avocado 'salsa' ...with a nice warm kick, different and delicious!

After 11 hours driving, we arrived in town and needed dinner. We were trying to avoid fast food and found this little restaurant. Overall, our experience was decent, but our particular waiter was not the best. Our meals arrived before our drinks (which were 2 waters and a sofa). The manager/owner came out to check on us and then we finally got our drinks. She seemed embarrassed and we didn't hold it against her. The waiter should have been on it. Our food was good and the prices were very reasonable. It was nice to have a meal in our bellies after a day of driving. Nice little restaurant.

I have been going to La Hacienda for over a decade. This is a superb Mexican restaurant - food is authentic, large portions, friendly and attentive staff - great value. Don't be fooled by the location or the decor. They also have a great lunch buffet or order from the menu. Highly recommend their fajitas or soft tacos. Well done!
