Things to do in Selah
This is like a fast food place (order at the counter, they bring the dishes to you) but they use real eating utensils and, importantly, it is clean. The staff is very welcoming and happy and full of suggestions for those of us not familiar enough with Mexican food. The restaurant was full of families and take-out was possible. This was a great and filling meal at a very reasonable price.

My wife and I ate at El Rincon on 10/28/13 for lunch. The salsa was very good with some decent spice, but the chips were not warm or fresh tasting. The host greeted us very nicely and seated us in a nice clean table. I agree with other reviews that the atmosphere is very dark and the buidling has a lot of wear, but the place looked clean. I did not use the bathroom so I cannot speak to that. The food came within a couple minutes meaning that everything was pre-cooked and just put together and heated. I had a shredded beef burrito and my wife a beef chimichanga. We were not blown away, but it was pretty good for under $8 each. What we were amazed with was the server asking us if we wanted soda refills in to-go cups! This is great customer service and we happily accepted her offer. It amazes me how restaurants soak their patrons $2.25 for a soda these days, but giving us a refill for the road earned this server a nice tip and probably another visit from us in the future.

We are the leading Yakima Mexican Restaurant winning awards and recognition throughout the Northwest. Santiago's is Yakima's favorite restaurant to have been published within Northwest Best Places... And for over three decades of continuous recognition. W
A group of us went to Santiagos for dinner after a meeting and what a delightful experience. The wait staff was busy but we were never neglected. The server had a great personality, looked like she enjoyed her work and was very knowledgeable about all the items (and there were a lot) on the menu. When the food came, most of us couldn't believe the portions. One look and you might was well ask for a box for take home. I had the chicken chalupa and it was excellent and only $10.99.

Service was prompt as it was not busy when we visited. the meals came out quickly. Everything was just kind of average. The food was good, but we could have been in just about any typical Mexican restaurant. The prices were reasonable. Nothing stood out. If we were in that part of town again and needed to stop for food, we'd stop here again, but there wouldn't be any reason to go out of our way.

We were visiting relatives in town and they suggested this place for the best ârealâ Mexican food in town. They were right. The food was great. The homemade tortillas make it even better. I had the taco salad with shredded chicken. The amount of chicken was generous. The fried tortilla shell Was crispy and not greasy. My husband had the burrito with shredded chicken, which was huge. Itâs definitely enough for two people to share. The service was exceptional. We will definitely return here on our next trip to Yakima.

When more than half of the cliental are local Hispanics, it says something. Promptly greeted and served chips and salsa - free!! Good food though not outstanding. Franky's welcoming, effusive manner mad the meal for us. And he was BUSY handling other tables inside and out on the patio.

We stopped at Taco Bell at about 5:30 pm, we needed to get a snack before having a late dinner. We ended up getting an order of nachos (chips and cheese) a grilled stuffed nachos and the ghost pepper griller (I think). about $5. Taco bell is cheap and quick food. The service was very good and quick, but it wasn't very busy because it wasn't quite dinner time yet. We've seen the line quite long sometimes. Also nice that they're open late night, I think until at least 1 am. So after 10 pm unless you're going to a bar, there's really no where else to eat in this small town. Overall you're average taco bell, big menu, cheap and quick.
The taco shack is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Yakima/Selah area! The place is small enough you know your food is made fresh - and you can taste the difference! The owner Jesse is great! She has a passion for great food!!!! Try their enchiladas de pollo a la crema! Best I've ever had!!!
I am always on the search for the planets best tacos. This place has top notch al pastor!! Meat was tender and the salsa bar had 5 options of varying heat and taste. One of the better al pastor tacos I have had north of the border! And.....they include pineapple in the taco!!!
