We ate here on the way back from NY City, as we have dined here in the past and enjoyed it. The place was more crowded than we were used to, which caused some lengthy delays in getting our food. We were there almost an hour before our lunch was put on our table, which is too long. Our waiter was nice, but did not speed things along. My seafood burrito was good, with lots of shrimp and scallops, but still the wait was too long. I would still go back, but hopefully the wait will be shorter in the future.

Authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine served by friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Atmosphere is not fancy, but very comfortable, homey and welcoming. Italo's features authentic Mexican dishes that many Mexican restaurants in this area do not. Quality of food was superb. Can't wait to return!

Chicanos is one of my family's top 5 restaurants in Scranton and by far the most casual, affordable and family-friendly of the bunch. My husband and I were regulars at the original location when we were dating and continue to patronize the restaurant now at the new location on cedar ave with our 2 children in tow. We like to go there for lunch on Saturdays after hitting the Southside Farmer's Market. They have something for everyone (I am vegetarian) and everything is delicious. Even my picky 2 and 4 year olds have their favorite dishes. Staff are always friendly and food is ready relatively quickly. We love Chicanos so much that we had them cater our -pre-wedding party for out of town guests and it was a huge success. Eat in or take out, either way you won't regret it.

We were returning from a long trip out of state and were starving! We couldn't wait any longer! It is tough to find a restaurant open in this area on a Monday, and a Memorial Day holiday no less. But when we stumbled upon this place, we came out believers in small town business that may not look like much, but has enough taste to make up for it. Although the AC was off, it was pleasant enough inside. The large screen tvs were on movies and it was quiet in the afternoon. The chips and salsa and guac were great starters to our meals. Simple meals with just the right amount of flavor, not overdone. All made on the spot, with fresh ingredients. We shared an appetizer and couldn't finish our meals. The family that runs it is nice and hard working, albeit lacking in the service department somewhat. They didn't check on us after serving, so I did have to approach the counter (we were at a table) to ask the server for some condiments. If we are in the area, we are sure to be back for more. Thank you Garibaldi's!

There are many places to go for Mexican food on Pittston Avenue. Italo's is the best but Hacienda Volcon is very good. The sauce they serve with the chips is worth the visit alone. Finally, a Mexican restaurant that's not afraid of a little heat.
