We LOVED how well things were at Jalapeños, which was founded by the owner of this place. Spectacular food and service.We came here for my sister in lawâs birthday. Initial drink order took 45 minutes to receive, and a lot of pestering from us. We went to the bar ourselves for water and glasses. Waiter was a nice guy, but told me that our table wasnât his but he wanted to help us anyways. I came here for my 40th birthday about 18 months ago and everything was terrific. I seriously wonder what happened to the quality of service and food since then. This building was LONG overdue for someone like the owners to take this place over and make it into something amazing. Initially, they succeeded, but it has gone way downhill since. Iâm truly sad to see the quality become what it has.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Embarrassingly, I had passed on this restaurant before, simply because of its outside appearance. I saw a recent write up in our local periodical and I reminded myself that the other Mexican food noted as top rated in Wausau is entirely over priced and honestly over rated, and that I should give this place a shot. Wow am I glad I did! I don't want to restate what other reviewers have already described in terms of the food offerings. I'll just say I haven't had tacos like that in Wisconsin. I have to go home to New Mexico or or travel to Mexico to enjoy the quality and the variety offered by Tres Hermanos and at exceptionally reasonable prices. I can't forget to mention the terrific service. This is truly a family restaurant experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Comfortable Mexican Reataurante in Washington Square in downtown Wausau. Good and service. Outside seating during warmer times of year. Good selection of tap beers. A fun place at a reasonable price

This might be a newer restaurant as the last time I was through two years ago this "strip mall" didn't exist and neither did the gas station next to it!

The food was great, good selection of beer, everything looked clean, respectful knowledgable wait staff. Not eco friendly in at least 2 areas. All water glasses brought to the table with straws already unwrapped & didn't think to say didn't want them. AND only large styrofoam containers for leftovers. Might seem trivial but most people don't need straws & they fill up the landfills & who still uses styrofoam?

We stopped by this restaurant because it was specifically family owned and operated. We found the restaurant was very clean and pleasant in decoration, the servers helpful and informative, and the food was excellent. You really need to go to this restaurant when you're starving as the portions were huge! We especially appreciated the warm chips and salsa provided as an appetizer. All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
