It's good to have a restaurant in this location that's not fast food or pizza. The new decor was interesting, particularly the colorful tables. Our waiter was enthusiastic and quick with salsa and drink refills. We really want to like this place. We would have preferred to have more choices, such as black beans in place of refried beans or rice, or corn tortillas instead of flour. The salsa tasted fresh and was quite good.

We visited here on a work trip. Great trip advisor reviews. Arrived. Very busy. Great atmosphere. Nice servers. Food (the important thing!) was ok. It arrived insanely fast (which is always a worry in my opinion). My colleagues had huge portions and their food looked ok. There menu had lots of veggie options. Which is great. I opted for the first veggie combo. Which from memory was a bean burrito, a cheese quesadilla/enchilada and something else. Option 1 or A. I canât recall. The first one! What arrived was worrying. I feel bad saying this but it looked like a plate of prison slop. I couldnât work out where the enchilada stopped and the burrito started. A sea of refried beans, covered with iceberg lettuce, what looked like a lost tortilla wrap under the beans and next to it some melted cheese and it was like a game of find the wrap. On top of what I can only guess was the cheese enchilada/quesadilla. Covering all that was some bright orange liquid. Check out my photo for the full story. Everyone else food looked ok. Mine however did not. Give it a try but avoid the first veggie option!

This restaurant offers a wide variety of pretty authentic Mexican food. You get a plate of very hot food, prepared as you order. The service is good. The location is easy to get in and out. Ample parking. Better than most Mexican restaurants in the Midwest.
Me & my husband went for lunch. The cilantro lime rice was excellent the meat not so much it had soaked in water & had absolutely no flavor.

El Patio, in Champaign, IL, is the area's premier restaurant serving Savoy, Urbana, Tuscola, Mahomet, Tolono, St. Joseph, Monticello and surrounding areas since 2014. We offer authentic Mexican cuisine, tacos, burritos, margaritas, spicy salsa, happy hour
Unfortunately I will have to downgrade my previous review rating. With the change in management, things appear to have worsened. The service was deplorable, the food lukewarm and the prices had gone up. With the wide variety of Mexican restaurants in our area, I will not likely return.

Casual dining experience with authentic Mexican food. Fantastic Margaritas and great tacos! You won't be disappointed!
We enjoy Casa Del Mar and have been several times. This very clean restaurant with bright colors welcomes you. The service is always prompt and polite and their food has always been good. They immediately bring you a tray of corn chips and salsa. I've tried a few of their items, however, my favorite is the Chicken Quesadilla Delux, which comes with a bed of lettuce, and sour cream (I ask for it without guacamole). I've also tried their Chicken on the Beach which is grilled chicken with cheese sauce served on a bed of rice, with tortillas. My mom loves their Ballarta plate. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican food. Portions are large enough it's easy to request a to go box and you have lunch the next day!

Looking for for a reasonable priced food. Quick service. Not a lot of seating inside, but definitely worth the visit.
