The food here is excellent. As a vegetarian I just get a drink here but all friends love the beans here because they put bacon in the refried beans (their secret).
Nice little place. I give it four stars because it is very good for a tex-mex restaurant. This is not an elegant fine dining restaurant . . . just a very reliable Mexican restaurant with an interesting vibe, great service, good basic food and reasonable prices. My wife and I have been here a number of times for a fast and reliable lunch when traveling between Ojai or Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
Si-preferido!!They make birria, lengua, other exotics or just pain machaca (chop chili beef) or carnitas, not only tacos but a full variety of Mexican and other quick food. Plates are plentiful and the little patio is charming-off the side of Main near Palm, look for the little taco stand that could!

Excellent tasty Mexican food. Love love love the shrimp tacos, my favorite. My husband's loves the carne asana soft tacos as well as the hard shell beef tacos. Enjoy the outdoor patio atmosphere. And, the waitress are ready for your beck n call to get what you want..

On the street or inside, this little bistro on Main Street in Santa Paula is a part of our town heritage. You feel that when you enter. I always have Menudo but on weekdays we meet to get a snack or breakfast. Anything you'll order is superb. Service is slow and careful, and when crowded, everyone must take their turn. It is a small spot, seating maybe ten full tables, more outside. This Mexican restaurant will not serve bad meals. Even the kiddo's pancakes look awesome. Beware the red sauce on the enchiladas and the chile relleno and pork chile verde, hot-hot-hot!! I am a weakling. Chips and salsa are fresh.

Typical Mexican restaurant.Very polite and welcoming staff, food comes out really fast, wide selection and very good portions. The guacamole was probably one of the best I tasted during my trip. I had the fajitas with prawns, beef and chicken, tortillas made out of maize and flour, rice and bean mash. If you're a fan of hot sauces please ask for the habanero sauce, it really brings life into the whole dish. The presentation was very crude and simple, the rice was a bit greasy but the prawns, meat and chicken were well seasoned and cooked. Although it was a very hot day (100F) the restaurant was very cool and I enjoyed my meal and managed to relax as well. The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner.

We stopped here getting close to home after our 4-day long adventure to Las Vegas, St. George, and Zion National Park. As always, the food is outstanding and authentic Mex. Our 2 faves are Rick's taco special and the deep fried chili verde burrito. The waitress was so helpful, friendly and attentive. It was a nice welcome back home!

My husband and I just ate here last night...for about the 4th time since it's been under new ownership. The food keeps getting better and better. Our server, Carlos, is always very professional, yet friendly. The margaritas are great and served in beautiful glasses.I had the Carnitas which is my husband's favorite. They were delicious with very fresh and tasty sides - I prefer the pinto beans over the refried beans. The homemade salsa and chips are terrific, as is the guacamole. The decor has been redone by the new owners and is very attractive. So glad we live only 10 minutes from here!Oh, I do miss the homemade salsa bar... wish they would bring that back.

I came in to eat because this place was recommended by neighbors but when I asked if they use lard, I was told that they use it in pretty much everything so I was unable to eat there because I'm vegetarian.
