The food at the Palm Cafe is amazing. My favorite is the potato, egg and cheese breakfast tacos. They serve them all day!

After noticing that Casa Maria was closed I had to find a place close and quickly to grab dinner before heading home. The food was a bit bland and cheaply made compared to many Tex Mex and Mexican restaurants I frequent. I asked for a margarita and the waitress replied that someone turned the margarita machine off the day before so no margaritas (it was 6pm- seems like they wouldâve noticed and addressed the issue already). So the waitress encouraged us to order a Mexican beer, only to drop them quickly off at the table and let us know there were no limes after we had to flag her down. She did let me sub a dinner combo item so that I could have a vegetarian dish but left off other items that they tried to charge additional for after asking where they were. Over all, not a good experience and I wonât be going back.

We've had one outstanding breakfast and two outstanding lunches at Los Vega-- a modest and unassuming restaurant in the middle of San Marcos-- and (having tried nearly all Mexican food restaurants in town) we think that Los Vega is best! Today, we had Chalupas and the Tex-Mex Enchilada Plate, and the flavors were delicious. Portions were ample, prices were moderate. This place is best.

My first impression of this renovated restaurant was plenty of outside seating, too small and cramped parking lots, strange broken up interior, mostly booths, acoustics poor and colorfully decorated. The food was average, the quantities sufficient and the wait-staff outstanding. There are better Mexican Restuarants in San Marcos to visit before this one.

We were here for the last night of a conference, and went out with a medium size group on a Sunday evening. Great food, drinks, service & all-around experience. Our server (Nicole M), was very attentive, funny, and not phased at all by the complicated payment situation at the end. All the food came quick and right, and everything was hot and tasty. Drinks were very good, and the atmosphere was fun and interesting. Due to fairly high turnover, the floor was wet and needed a really good mopping - this was really the only complaint. There was a creamy spicy chip dip as an alternate to the usual salsa that was addictive! Would definitely visit again.

These are not your traditional tacos. They are fresh mex style with an edgy twist. I wish I had more time here as I now need to try the entire menu after experiencing theBaja Shrimp and the Green Chile Pork over corn tortillas. I will definitely be back and look forward to this restaurant franchising close to my hometown.

I have eaten at about half the places in town that serve breakfast tacos, and nothing else comes close to Lolita's. People say the Exxon on Guadalupe is good, people say Charro's or Los Vega. They're all fine. They're great. They're wonderful. But nothing, so far, beats Lolita's. The locals all know this. And the reason is that the tortillas are fresh--no bagged-tortilla taste or texture, the bacon is slab cut, and the cheese is top notch. Other places MIGHT have good tortillas. Or they MIGHT spring for the good cheese. But I haven't found a single place yet that has both, except for Lolita's.

Stopped for lunch while on business in Texas. Busy little restaurant at the side of the I-10. Lots of daily specials and tasty home cooked feel mexican food. Quick and attentive service but can get busy for lunch. There were people waiting for tables later on during the lunch period. Well worth a stop.

Ate here on the recommendation of a local. Funky little place with a family feel. Service was immediate and friendly. Ordered the beef enchiladas with queso. Came out quickly and hot. Nice flavor and not overly spicy. Reasonably priced and tasty. What more does one need in a restaurant?
