Located in East Sac and family owned and operated, Nopalitos is the love of Dave & Rose for the rest of us. Tex-Mex and homey, open only for breakfast and lunch M-F. Those who loved the Bun Stop across from UCD Med Center in days past will find that Dave & Rose have switched places here. };-) â¤ï¸

We went for dinner two days before Cinco de Mayo, and we were seated right away. This restaurant never disappoints, with great customer service and food. The mole enchilada sauce is the best. I always order 2 cheese enchilada dinner plate, so I can eat leftover for lunch the next day. Also, there is plenty of free parking in a lot across the street in front of the restaurant.

As said Mexican foods but nothing you would ever imagine the taste outstanding the choices unheard of food combinations and yes slanted towards vegetation on one side of menu the other non traditional Mexican? Combinations that are unreal.... cactus just one teaser for the delight under my steak. Letâs back up an odd location on the east side of J. Street way east of downtown like the avenues. Plenty off street parking and the corner restaurant is quaint clean and on the disuse simply decorated but quiet with open viewing however inner walls separate the dinning into three areas and quiet not like the Fats open air seating and condusive to noise. Staff are pleasant and for the most part attentive. You really first time have to read the entire menu to gather in your selective choice. The meal selected by both of us was the steak cooked just right with a tossed pepper greens chili onion dish with the cactus leaf under the steak. Spanish rice with this dish and other small tasty sides to make it delectable. Several large groups of 8-12 sat nearby but not noisy by room design. A definite go to place to dine with 1-2 or many. Repeat repeat come enjoy. Did I mention soups too ! My friends says the several only choices are excellent. Bon appetite is another way to enjoy this fine dining experience off the beaten path youâll appreciate the experience.

This was one stop of our Sacramento food tour. The decor is museum quality and the food was amazing. We tried the crema poblano soup, baguette with caramelized onions, the chips and salsa, and watermelon aqua fresca. Everything was delicious, especially the soup, with all sorts of interesting flavor and a slight zing.

TA helped us find this place and we are so glad we didIt was really busy but they said a table would be available in 20 mins so we took an opportunity to stroll around which was nice as the weather was really warm. Sure enough when we got back we were waved in and seated in the rear of the place. Great decor, the menu was extensive. The food was really good but so much of it. We all went for a combination meal but could have shared one with a few sides to be honest. We have big appetites so that is saying something. We took our left overs home. Really enjoyed and it was buzzing on the Friday evening that we visited.

Zocalo is a favorite when looking for good Mexican food in an upscale atmosphere. We recently had occasion to catch up with friends for lunch and chose Zocalo midtown on a week day. The restaurant is nicely appointed and the food was good. The staff is friendly, available, helpful and efficient. A bonus was the personal touch from server Rosa G., who was wonderful. We had such a great time, we're already talking about plans to go again soon. Very nice.
