The food was good and the service is good. But it's definitely Americanized Mexican food so if you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, this probably isn't the place for you

This is real, authentic grub. Plus, open 24 hours in Rexburg, who can complain about that? We love their breakfast burritos, fish tacos, chicken tacos. Spoiler alert: they do use fries in anything that has potato in it (burritos). So just be aware. But it's a pretty great joint. Must try at least once before you leave Rexy.

Let me start by saying I never got to the food at this Cafe Rio. We love the chain, but this place needs to sort out how to handle busy days. It was the 4th of July and we were looking for some Cafe Rio food. The line wasn't terribly longer than what we have seen elsewhere, but it didn't move. I noticed that there was only one person making the food, another running the register, another person making tortillas, and another in the back doing who knows what. So I don't know if they have trouble hiring, if they had trouble getting people to work on the holiday, or if they are short handed in general--regardless, you've got a brand and a good concept--you might want to think about your execution at this location...

We had a very good dinner of wrapped burrito, hard shell tacos and the gordita but on top of all of that it was check in day for the college and the place was packed but the staff was having a good time and they were getting food out faster than I have ever seen. The guy calling out the orders for pick up was obviously having a good time and it made the place come alive. Good Work & Good food.

This taco time continues to be a great value. I visited recently after quite a long absence. It is still a fine place to get some good, tasty food. The management is still hitting home runs on quality, speed of production, freshness and tasty varieties of food. It may not be the most "Mexican" of fast food, but the fresh salsa and other condiments continue to please. If you are passing through Rexburg, and need a place to grab a quick meal near the west end of campus, this is a safe place that should not disappoint.

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of Rexburg. The food is excellent. The cooks consistently share their Mexican roots as they prepare the basics. I love the carne asada burrito, or the fish burrito, both very generous in size, and well flavored. If you like plated food, there are several choices, and all are much like you would find if you were a guest at a Mexican table. The food is not fancy; the atmosphere is not fancy; the value is excellent, and consistent throughout the menu. It is a great place to fill up with food, and not spend a fortune. They have great homemade salsas, usually a red blended hot, and a salsa verde, along with pickled veggies and jalapeños. The location has enough space to handle a large number of diners. It can be a bit noisy. There is usually a Mexican channel on the TV that is mounted over the order counter. They do have a drive up option, but I prefer to dine in most of the time.

Service was good, but food was bland, even the spicy sauces on the disappointing salsa bar. Stick with bottled sauces. It was authentic though. Wouldn't recommend California burrito unless you're craving a potato burrito. Out of flan, too, which was the whole reason my grandson wanted to go there.

The thing that most impressed me about eating at Costa Vida was the steak strips in my burrito. Sure, the tortillas and fresh and tasty as well, but the meat is excellent. It's a little pricy, but then again so is everything else in Rexburg. I'm not quite sure why the restaurants are all so expensive in Rexburg. (One exception is Pizza Pie Café, which is why they are always so busy). All in all, Costa Vida is worth trying as an alternative to Café Rio. I was more impressed with the meat at CV than the meat at CR.

We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and it was very busy. You order and pay at the counter and the your food is brought to you. We got chips and salsa, chimichanga, and a burrito. The food was very good and order just as we ordered. We got the chips and salsa, which was a huge basket of chips and a small dish of salsa. We asked for more salsa and was told it was $1.04 for another small dish. There was not salsa provided with the meal. The food was very good but the whole restaurant was dirty. Our first clue was the 20 or 30 flies just inside the door. The tables were clean but the floor, garbage cans, ceiling, vents and ceiling fan were gross - I am sure you could write you name in the dirt. The young lady that took our order was very nice.
