Home of legendary burritos & iconic Baja fish taco
Despite having lived for nearly 30 years in the South Sound, I recently visited my first Taco Del Mar. Wow, was I ever missing out. Service is faster than any Taco Bell or Taco Time and the food is better than what you'll find in many upscale sit down Mexican places. Loved their tacos with cilantro and the mango salsa. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the restaurant is pretty cramped and there was some trash on the floors and tables.
Pollo Mole and Carne Asada were delicious. Karla our sever was lovely . Quick and delicious. First time here and glad we trid it. We will be back. You should come and try it too!

I had high hopes after many great reviews, but turned out to be a pretty mediocre visit. Service was very good, and food was served pretty quickly, but the rest of the visit was forgettable. Salsa was decent, tacos/enchiladas and tostada was ok but lacked some flavor. Really noticeably lacking was the rice and beans which needed some seasoning. Value was only fair as each plate was approx $12-$14 which is on the high side for Mexican food in Puyallup. Overall I wasn't disappointed but certainly didn't find the draw to bring us back.

I didn't have my hopes very high, but my food was very good. It was pretty crowded, so I think the word is out. It's in a shopping area, and it makes sense to eat here during the day when you're navigating from store to store.

I enjoyed a steak fajita entrée ($13.50) during happy hour in the restaurant lounge, offering $5 margaritas that were well poured. The fajitas were served hot and tasted delicious, with large portions of rice, beans and sides of pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and tortillas. I opted for the corn tortillas, but in reflection, enjoy the flour tâs more. My wife enjoyed a tasty plate of Arrox con Pollo ($11) which is chicken breast strips sautéed with onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. It came with rice and melted jack & cheddar cheeseâ¦..very savory. Warm chips and salsa are served prior to the entrees. The menu has a nice variety of options and the bar is well stocked with top shelf spirits, beer and wines. Plenty of seating in the main restaurant as well as the bar. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible from Canyon Rd.Weâd been on the hunt for Mexican food in the area for some time, most places taste like the food comes out a mold and is just bland with a little spice to heat things up.El Toroâs food is exceptional. This is a great find; weâve finally graduated to the big leagues!

Simply the BEST margaritas around.... they pair perfectly with some amazing dishes that leave you saying "WOW"! We had Pozole, Tortilla Soup, Al Mojo De Ajo and a Super Fiesta Carnita Burrito "wet" (with sauce).....and lets not forget about the chips and bean dip with a salsa bar......gah! It's all so good!! This is a place you will come back to for more!
