Looking for a tropical Mexican fishing village with relaxing beaches, oceanfront seafood bars and restaurants, unspoiled reefs for diving and snorkeling, and waves suitable for championship surfing? Puerto Escondido has all that plus the Laguna de Manialtepec mangrove lagoon for tours combining kayaking, boating, bird-watching, and swimming in phosphorescent waters. Regularly scheduled airline service links Mexico City and Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido Airport (PXM)Rent an umbrella at the town beach, Playa Principal, which parallels the Avenida Perez Gasga hotel and restaurant row. Stop in one of the hotels near the beach for a drink or take the family horseback riding. A small freshwater lagoon at the mouth of the river, Rio Rigadillo, marks the border with Playa Marinero, which has waves suitable for beginning surfers. The whole family will enjoy the mile-long shoreline walkway known as Andador Escénico, which leads across the rocks to El Faro lighthouse and the Sueño Posible scenic overlook. Beyond the lighthouse, Playa Principal transitions into Playa Manzanillo, a swimmable beach with clear waters extending towards Puerto Angelito. Rent a boogie board or equipment to snorkel the coral and rocks. If Playa Manzanillo gets too crowded on a holiday weekend, catch one of the water taxis linking Puerto Escondido’s seven beaches. Snorkel or surf the clear shallow waters beneath the high cliffs surrounding Playa Carrizalillo. High red cliffs, housing, and hotels surround riptide-plagued Playa Bacocho, which is good for long romantic beach walks and sunsets. For more adventure, dive Pressure Point’s tectonic plate fault lines or Punta Colarada’s volcanic overhangs, ledges, and lava rock swimthroughs. If you are lucky you will see lobsters, stingrays, moray and snowflake eels, barracudas, yellow tangs, parrotfish, and puffers.

In Mexico, restaurants are changing places. But this restaurant connected with accommodation. And they don't change place long long time. Don't be late. They do close earlier than you think. They have hamburgers. Same kind of food as Cafe Chito. This locate 2 blocks back from Agua Luna. Kind of hill top at famouse big wave Zicatela beach. Hard to find first time.

This place has moved into bigger space, still on the road leading down to Zicatela beach. The menu is small and made up by tacos, served x3 and either vegetarian, seafood or meat. Tortillas are fried and the taco piled high with whatever you ordered, fresh cabbage avocado and cream. Sauce served on the side. Chile de arbol sauce particularily good!Service is accomodating, allowing you to mix and match tacos. If peckish, share one order, if hungry get one each!

Busiest place on the beach, which is a good sign. They have a large menu with a good choice of food. We had breakfast, which came fast and tasted good.

We held our annual âBirthday party for everyoneâ event in the loft at Fresh. The view of Playa Zicatela was stunning, as was the sunset. Sipping a delicious margarita watching the sun melt into the horizon was surreal. The food at Fresh is delicious. Try the ceviche for sure. We enjoyed the catch of the day, jambalaya and delicious shrimp dishes. This is one of our favorite spots in Puerto.

We had a nice meal in the restaurant. The food was ok but not much choice for the kids. The lemonade with mint was delicious. The view was amazing and it was nice to get the cool breeze which blows through the restaurant. Would recommend for the view.

A friend orders smoked fish to take home, she loves it so much. The owner spent time in Italy and speaks great English! Really delicious shrimp tacos and the smoked fish was also good. Limonada... freshly squeezed lime juice in mineral water with NO sugar is always our favorite refreshing drink!

Our restaurant offers Author Mexican cuisine, which is based on using the products of the region to offer unique dishes with great style.
We have as tradition to go and enjoy the samplermenu with a friend whenever weâre in Puerto. It has added up to a number of visits over the years and weâve seen the restaurant evolve into an evermore creative and daring menu. It serves regional food with flair and now uses a lot of more unusual ingredients as wild herbs, naked crabs and special types of rare chiles. The menu is always a treat, and most plates are seriously tasty and well put together leaving you satisfied and also having tried flavours and ingredients you wouldnât otherwise know. The small caveat is the almoraduz now train their staff exceedingly well, almost eradicating the personal touch replacing it with perfect professionalism and a standardized service. This is of course the mark of good leadership and. Ision, but we did miss the personal touch and warmth of earlier .Thank you very much for all your visits! You are always welcome to Almoraduz. We are happy to know that you like our restaurant and you enjoy all the time our menu.We will take your comment to improve our service adding the charming touch of the oaxacan hospitality. We hope to see you very soon.Chef Quetzalcoatl Zurita

Great location, but they make you pay there, you cannot charge to the room. Fish Tacos were great, and the staff friendly. The view of the beach and Pacific is a winner.Hola, encantados de leer tu comentario. Saludos cordiales y muchas gracias.

What a wonderful discovery to find Turtle Bay, very clean. I had a delicious fresh (and I mean fresh) parmesan crusted cheese mahi mahi fish. Our waiter Erik was very prompt and helped with our selection, they had my favorite wine as well. We will be back. Trixie
