Second time I've eaten here in last year. I don't live in the area, but pass through frequently. Good food with quick service. I especially liked their Pico de Gallo. Very diverse patronage so it appears the residents in the area have taken to this place

We eat at Los Cerros frequently. It's reasonably priced and unlike the larger chain Mexican restaurants. Its family-run and now in a new and larger building just up the street from their former location...4241 Valley View Road, El Sobrante (corner of Sobrante Avenue). Very friendly staff and clean, comfortable environment. Been in business in the El Sobrante community for 20+ years. That in itself is a great testimonial!

Located in a new strip mall, La Lupita is very new and clean looking with interesting wall art. The staff is very friendly and solicitous. However, the food was not very good. (Maybe because it was a Sunday evening.) When evaluating Mexican food, the "gold standard" for my wife and myself is carnitas. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos and I ordered the carnitas super burrito. Unfortunately, the carnitas were dry and tasteless. Interestingly, on the wall were taped pieces of paper and a white board with East Indian food items listed. Apparently, there is an East Indian connection to this restaurant, but we could not find out due to the language issue. We will not return.
We haven't been here since they just open several years ago, but we were at the area, and I read about their new commitment for GMO's free and healthier menu, and their new "sofritas" made from tofu for the vegan taste. However, it was busy and since it was a line to order we were push and rush to order, and the servers are just kind of automatically, asking: "white or brown rice, black or pinto beans,...? and then passing the order to the cashier, and rush to take care of the next person on line. The cashier was taking care of a call and do it some checking and apologized for our waiting, then she checked our items to key in the prices and bagged them to go. We went home to eat our food: I was so excited about the sofrita which I ordered in a bowl, with brown rice, black beans, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole: the tofu tasted like spiced ground turkey, not bad but since I am not to fond of any meat I can stick to my veggies. My husband chose the steak burrito and he says it was just o.k. and our four years old daughter went for the chicken taco kit, which are simply a tortilla with your meat choice, and two sides, sour cream and cheese, plus her drink, our daughter went for the chocolate milk: she said she just wanted the sour cream and cheese, so I separate the pieces of chicken, I tasted it since she said it was spicy, but it was just the flavor of the seasoning.Overall, I would say it is still kind of fast food place with average meals, and I hope the company is going to stick to the healthy, GMO's free options!
A few year ago this place offered all sorts of variations on the burritos, taco's etc. I think last year they cut way back on their offerings. Their food is average to good. They are convenient, they're arent that many dedicated taqueria's in Pinole. I went their for lunch last month and was concerned about their food handling practices, the cook was handling money without washing his hands.

Taco Bell is my guilty pleasure. It is right near my home taunting me to run through their drive through. I have tried most things on their menu but always come back to their crunchy and soft tacos. I think they have some addictive additive to their tacos with their hot sauce because I can't help coming back for more.
Hi gang, We visited Taqueria Sanchez in April 2014 because I'd heard about it and thought I'd follow up on my fellow TA's reviews. Nicely decorated and comfortable atmosphere. The menu varied, prices reasonable. I had a quesadilla plate and mi señora ate tacos. The food was tasty but really not much different than any other taqueria I've been to. It's tucked into the very corner of a small strip mall and parking can get a bit cramped. The pico de gallo was some of the best I've enjoyed in a long time. Give it a try !!Rich

Ordered a couple of burritos to go and they were GIGANTIC, probably weighing at least a pound each! Embarrassingly I finished mine completely, vegetarian with lots of fresh veggies, beans & rice, as it was delicious. Ordered guac, pico & jalapenos extra. Hubby enjoyed his Super Burrito with chicken. Fun to watch the soccer game on wall mounted TVs and the gals in back cooking while waiting. Walking distance from Days Inn. Would definitely eat here again ~ we are so done with corporate fast food chains !!!
