Gratis Fresh chips and salsa ( but spicy) were good. Fajitas, carnitas, chicken dish, and salads were all good. Served hot. Portions were large. Prices okay. Drinks were well served. Guacamole was below average, needed hit of lime, salt n pepper. No room for dessert. Staff friendly. Atmosphere was good, nicely decorated. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some had leftovers.

I've been on a quest for quite some time to find the most authentic Mexican in St. Louis. Having traveled to Mexico countless times, it's hard to beat authentic Mexican cuisine. This place has some of the Tex-Mex stuff, but a LOT of good, authentic Mexican dishes. It is rarely crowded, very inexpensive, and very fast. I work off of Page, and I can leave work, sit down, order, eat, pay, drive back to work, in under 30 minutes! Impressive! I used to go to Durango, but the service is just terrible at Durango. Here though, the waitress during the lunch hour is very friendly, and on top of things.

When we think Chevys Fresh Mex, we go to our happy place; fun-lovinâ guests, fajitas & margaritas, and the freshest food, always from scratch. Founded in 1986 in Alameda, California, Chevys is an ultra-casual restaurant concept that offers guests an array
Went for dinner with the wife; had fajitas and they were great. Wife had chimichanga said it was great too. Chips and salsa are always good and everything was reasonably priced Isiah L was our waiter and he rocked it. We had so so service from here before so they should keep him he did a perfect job.Thank you for visiting Chevys Fresh Mex! We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you again on a return visit.
This is taqueria fare, and pretty standard, but I don't plan to eat there again because of their salsas. The red was quite hot, and very thin, and if it had been offered in an Ameri-Mex restaurant, it might have been serviceable. The green was off. It might even have been good at one time, but that time had long passed. There is a certain sting, almost an effervescence, to a tomatillo based salsa when it has gone off, one that I am very familiar with.La Herencia in in the old Taco Bell that used to house La Pasadita, which is now over on the Rock Road, and which has the best salsas in St. Louis.
Was leaving my pottery class across the street and noticed a storefront with pics of desserts on the windows and thought what the heck...glad I stopped in!!! Reminds me of Paleterias in San Antonio and El Paso! Communication was a slight issue but my Spanish got me by, I had a chicharron con cueritos which was a large fried pork skin topped with a Mexican vegetable salad and thinly sliced pork rind, topped it with hot sauce and it was awesome! Also had the fruta con Chile which is assorted melon, mango, cucumber and jicama topped with fresh lime juice and a nice chili powder..so good! Large selection of fresh popsicles with milk or aqua. Lots of cool street foods using Doritos and pork skins as well, similar or could be Venezuelan street food...will definitely be back to try the elote that everyone was eating!!!

I have been here many times and love the food. I just keep going back, can't help myself. Great food and prices. Finally took the wife and she raved about it. She couldn't stop talking about it. Have had many different dishes, all great and good size portions. Love the place. Nice atmosphere, service and staff.

Servin' up Mexi-Cali street food, craft cocktails and local beer in the Delmar Loop.
Could not get enough of this place. The tacos were creative, unique and delicious...as were the cocktails and house-made sodas. It was so good, we went back three times during the course of our stay. Interestingly, the waitstaff were always warm, friendly and helpful. But, the same cannot be said for the hostesses. On all three occasions, the hostesses (all different) confronted our party about "not following the rules." One got on to us for being seated outside by a waiter who was standing by the tables..."you have to come inside and see me first!", another told us we could not sit outside (though there were 4 picnic tables unoccupied) until we told here it was outside or gone, and the final one never showed up to the stand after almost 10 minutes and then got on to us for going outside to sit at one of the numerous unoccupied tables. But, don't let this deter you...because the food is incredible and once you get past the gatekeepers, the rest of the staff of amazingly friendly and accommodating. Since the interaction with the hostesses was a minimal part, I am giving 5 stars.

Our waiter was beyond rude. Not a single smile. We felt like a bother. He never said a word about the ridiculously long wait for our meals. 20-30 minutes later our food was mediocre at best. We will not be returning.
