Reviews on Mexican food in Ogden, Utah, United States. The city was named after fearless fur-trader and adventurer, Peter Skene Ogden, who explored the untamed area in the 1820s. Since then, Ogden has seen poverty and prosperity, conflict and celebration. Today, although a more subdued and modern place, the city is still big on action and adventure the whole family can enjoy. Take the kids to ogle the more than 100 life-size replicas of pre-historic creatures at the Ogden Dinosaur Park and Museum. Or head to the Tree House Museum, one of the best of its kind in the U.S. Adults will find plenty to enjoy on local golf courses or hiking trails in the summer, and everyone will love the local winter ski resorts. A grand old depot, Union Station is a must see for history buffs and anyone interested in trains and railroads. Be sure to stroll along 25th Street downtown. This historic block was the center of activity in the early 20th-century and is home to many restored buildings from the railroad era. The street also boasts an eclectic mix of restaurants, one-of-a kind shops, antique stores and art galleries.

Directly across the street from the Courtyard Marriott, this place is easy to overlook if you don't know it's there. However, it is well worth the stop. Everything that I have had here is really good, and the prices are extremely reasonable. My most recent meal was the lunch chimichanga, which was excellent. The rice and beans that accompanied the meal were also good. The chimichanga wasn't deep fried as most are, but it was coated in a spicy sauce that was very tasty. The salsa served as the opening course was good, although nothing overly special. One of my co-workers ordered a soup that had beans and ham, which I didn't see on the menu. He raved about it.I'm pretty sure that there were only two people working when I was last there, but I've never had a problem with the service. Nor have my co-workers who have been there much more frequently than I have.I like this place, but it is small, and it isn't the easiest place to find. The parking is extremely limited, but it is worth a visit. Especially if you live or work in the area, or if you are down here to catch a baseball game at Lindquist Field.
The fish taco is always good, love that corn tortilla. The Veggie Burrito varies (sometimes you get sour cream/guacamole, sometimes you don't, or not much) but is generally good. I also like the Jacked Up Chicken Soft Taco. Their street Tacos are pretty good. Their breakfast burritos are ok, but no as good as Carl's Jr's Steak Egg and Cheese Burrito. If you get a Senior or Military discount, about 20% of the time the forget, but try anyways.

We discovered Maria's and it's a great place to dine. This restaurant is one of the most authentic Mexican options in all of Ogden. There are a variety of dishes including some unique options like cactus. A great option I select is "Puntas de Filete." The only change is to omit the real jalapeños due to the heat.

Great place for VEGANS!My husband and I went to La Puente Mexican Restaurant in Ogden. I asked detailed questions, so you don't have to!Get the pinto beans that are not refried beans. They have them and will do that. Get a taco salad in a bowl, with no wheat shell. Get corn tortilla chips on the side for it. Get lettuce, cilantro, olives, fresh red and green bell peppers, tomatoes and avocadoes on it. Their guac is vegan but it is easier for them to just get you sliced avocadoes for your custom order. The wheat flour tortillas are made with lard. The rice has chicken broth in it (just like Javier's). The refried beans come sometimes from one supplier and sometimes from another (not made in-house). Some weeks, they get it from a supplier that says it is cooked in vegetable oil. Other weeks, they get it from a supplier that cooks it in lard. They know whihc supplie they get it from, so when you go, you could actually get refried beans if they got it that week from the supplier that cooks it in vegetable oil.Enjoy! I liked this place over Javier's because Javier's does not give me all those vegetables on my custom salad. They only give me lettuce and (not many) tomatoes. They also accidentally gave me rice on the side at Javier's, which has the chicken broth in it. This La Puente made no mistakes and was happy to give me plenty of veggies! Yay for them! When you go and you order, be sure to tell the host, the server, the manager, or whomever you see (all of them) that you are a vegan and want this vegan special you read about on facebook.1- Get "O-Town Vegan Taco Salad" on the menu, please!2- We are a large community (325 members on O-Town Vegan on facebook, I see) of vegans!

Their housemade tortillas are addiciting! Every dish I've ordered has been very good. Being a somewhat picky eater, I really enjoy that I can pick exactly the things I want. Black beans, chicken and some guac and I'm good. The staff is always nice and so helpful. We go about once a week.

My first time here. My boyfriend brought me. He's been before since he works in Ogden. Don't let the exterior fool you! Very good customer service. Salsa is hot and flavorful. I got the enchiladas swizas, so good. The chili Verde had excellent flavor. My boyfriend got breakfast huevos Rancheros...delicious! Authentic flavor. I will be back.

Laid-back counter-serve Mexican chain with Baja-style tacos & burritos plus gluten-free options. Ultimate fresh mex made your way - exactly as you love it!
We stopped in here for a quick lunch and found it satisfactory. We ordered many different items and this is clearly fast food for the masses. Don't expect a remarkable dining experience. Tortillas were authentic and yummy. I particularly enjoyed my Taco Salad with mango for a fruity experience.

Donât overlook this place. Thereâs only three tables (four top), an 8 stool cafe counter, and a four chair wall counter. An hour and after after the lunch hour, itâs still filled.

Yum...I love carnitas but find them dry...cochinita pibil is great pork and Sonora serves it right with pineapple and pickled red onions...delish! I has the chicken cabbage salad too and it was good. Large tostada chips are served with their salsas. I love the green salsa. I will be back to eat here!
