A native Sonoran & business associate highly recommended this restaurant. Family/owned operated since 1958. Superb food & service, very accommodating but non-pretentious. Steak & shrimp combo plus all appropriate sides for 2 adults including tip, $49.00. Family has since opened a sister restaurant in California which is reviewed by TripAdvisor.

If you're going to San Carlos to party with over-the-hill Gringos, then you'll fit right in here. There was a nice cover band playing 60's and 70's music that, naturally, attracted people that came of age in that era. If you're looking for a young, hip crowd you might want to head over to Soggy Peso or La Salsa. That being said, the food was great. In fact, the mushroom/bacon number served with hot tortillas was one of the best things I ate in San Carlos. Simply delicious. However, it was a bit hard to swallow while watching the old folks bumping and grinding to nostalgic Rolling Stones and Carly Simon tunes.

I have dined here multiple times over the past few years and it is consistently good. I ordered a RibEye which was outstanding. Others in the party were served fish and combination dinners which were very well received. Good friendly service, very reasonable prices, and the genuine decor & ambiance of an older well-established restaurant remains intact.

Historic place, most professional staff.....cheap, clean, great selection of Mexican beers, and tequillas....some music.....bar food.....check out the burritos the guy sells out of the cooler. One of the safest places for Americans, across the border, and quite close...the trouble can vary, but at worst case it is fine during the day. Great hotel upstairs, too. I used to stay there, when I had business in Nogales Arizona...it's less than half of Motel 6 Nogales....very secure. Just be careful.
We ordered the typical full chicken with potatoes, onions and jalapeños and it was awesome. A ton of food for about $7! The leftovers have been great warmed up with an egg in a tortilla for breakfast. A definite must, but beware I don't know if there is a place to eat the food there. Worth a visit and be ready for leftovers.

I've been here a number of times. Everything that I have ordered has been anywhere from solid to fantastic. The bistec Mexicana is a favorite. This is a basic diner style restaurants that is usually gringo-free and filled with locals and their families. If you want to walk a few blocks from the seediness of the border and enter "real" Nogales, La Posada is an excellent choice.

This is the real deal. We've been here a couple of times and the food is always great and reasonably priced. I had the Menduo and my wife had a fish taco. A dollar for the taco and mine was 4 bucks. Great setting and good location to shops. Friendly staff and service was great. Very authentic. Go you won't be disappointed.

Solo dining can become a great experience when service in a restaurant is great besides a good atmosphere and great food. A warm tomato soup sample received me followed by a costume made sauce with fresh corn chips immediately served while a Indio draft michelada beer served in a tall glass came on its way. Fresh sweet bread came after I ordered a steak with asparagus and mushrooms with warm tortillas on the side. A house digestive followed while I ordered my check. Of course I will be back!

I'm surprised that TripAdvisor asked me to review this place: I've eaten there a number of times. The food is consistently delicious, the service from white-coated waiters (who have been there for many years; I recognize most of them) is impeccable, and the interior is beautiful. (But you might like one of the few outdoor tables. They're outside the bar, but waiters provide food service there if you ask for it.)
