Being new to living in Mission Viejo, we need to establish our "go to" places for a familiar, consistently good, reasonably priced restaurants. Casa Franco will be our "go to" Mexican food place, for sure!! We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2:00 for a late lunch. While there were other customers there, it was not packed and we could select our own table. If you're looking for a high-brow, luxury restaurant, don't go. If you're looking for a family owned, non-chain restaurant with good food at reasonable prices...GO!! Our server was Diaz; we explained that we had never been here and did he have any suggestions. He said that everything was good AND all homemade, but then he still made a few suggestions on what was most popular with customers. One suggestion was the Chicken Green Chili burrito, which my husband selected. Good choice!! It was plenty stocked with delicious, tender chicken and the green chili sauce was delicious!! I opted for a two choice combination plate, selecting a chili relleno and crispy beef taco. Both were really good! The chunky beef in the (big!) taco was well seasoned and tender. The chili relleno was cooked perfectly, well sized and delicious. I think the next time if I order a combination plate I'll either only select one option or order the items I most want a la carte because it was too much food for me. We spent about $35 on food and beverages, which seemed reasonable for the amount of food we got. They have a full bar with featured margaritas and other adult beverages. We didn't have any drinks, just soda and iced tea. Oh, and your server will bring you a nicely sized basket of fresh chips, the light, crispy type with a delicious and "just right" salsa. Not too hot, not to weak. Really loved this place! RECOMMEND!

Your paying up for the view of the lake here on prices a little high but go for happy hour or lunch and you nailed it.

We enoyed the friendly atmosphere at this no frills Mexican restaurant. It's very centrally located on El Toro Road. They provide a good meal for a reasonable price. The staff coordinate with each other like a family. The enchiladas and chimichanga were delicious. We especially enjoyed the flan swimming in Kaluha and jamaica beverage. We feel the low price makes this restaurant excellent.

Really good Mexican food and the decor made the experience fun. Guacamole was perfect. Wait staff made sure we had a constant flow of chips and salsa. Carnitas was seasoned well and their combo plates had a variety to pick from. I recommend their Tortilla Soup.

My co-workers had the pleasure of dining at Avila's El Ranchito. We often visit this restaurant for our celebratory luncheons. The food is okay - not wonderful. Service was great. Prices are reasonable. If you are in the area and are craving Mexican food, then I would suggest a visit to Avila's El Ranchito.
