We were so excited to eat here after all the great reviews we had read. We were a group of 10, most of us enjoyed our meals but felt it was underwhelming. I ordered the queso relleno and it was very cold in the middle... I would have normally sent it back but my meal arrived 25 minutes after everyone's meals arrived so I was already eating alone. So I ate the edges that were warm and left most of my meal. The meal for me was disappointing. Would likely consider returning on another vacation as the overall reviews are good so maybe our table was just a miss this Sunday.

Contemporary mexican cuisine
Weâve eaten here twice during our visit, based on the recommendation of a top chef in Mexico. It is definitely as good as the recommendation. Service was excellent. On Thursday evenings Starting at 21:00 there is live music in the adjacent plaza. Free dinner show with lots of local audience members. The food is exceptional. Very flavorful, unique fusion of ingredients, not heavy. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection, excellent octopus and sea bass. Excellent ceviche. Wonderful soups.I would suggest that two people each order an appetizer and share them, and then order a single main to share. There would be plenty to eat.Thereâs a nice wine selection. The desserts we each had were very good but also very sweet. I think that is for some reason indicative of hot climates. After dinner walk around and check out all of the adjacent cafés and shops.

We are a concept of comfort food, where we serve breakfast & brunch with the worry of preserving the traditional flavors, using products of season and adapting them to the gastronomic trends of nowadays.
Four of us walked over for breakfast from our Airbnb. We had a great, fresh, and creative breakfast. I had a freshly made horchata which was excellent. Each of us had something different and we were all very satisfied. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who took excellent care of us even though the place gets quite busy. Go before 10:30AM or it might be full. This is not a fast food joint. The food is all made fresh and made to order so it takes a while. Be patient and you will be rewarded. I use Tripadvisor a lot and read through all the reviews, even the negative ones to get a sense of a place. There were only 4 one and two star ratings. When I read them, I knew they were either competitors or just people that can't be pleased under any circumstances. The place is a small neighborhood restaurant serving well-prepared, fresh food. It gets busy. When it gets busy, service slows down like it does in every other restaurant. Their hours are available on Tripadvisor. Don't expect them to be open before or after hours. And in Mexico, if you want water you are better off buying a bottle con gas or sin gas. It will be cool, refreshing, inexpensive, and it is available everywhere.

The food here is an upscale experience of comida tipica. As well as all of the local dishes like poc chuc and pollo pibl, there are their own creations/variations like the carne ahumada de Teya. The atmosphere is lovely and this has been the haunt of many celebrities. And best of all at the end of the day you are walking out with a reasonable bill. Two people can eat very well for under $40.Thanks for your visit and comments! We make sure that our service and food remains great every day so you can enjoy the true flavor of Yucatecan cuisine.Hope to see you soon!

A really good stop for inexpensive, delicious street tacos (tacos running about $1 a piece), in a pleasant shaded open air courtyard. They have a broad menu of options available for tacos- the castacan pork belly is a specialty of the house- crispy and juicy. Classics like papa con chorizo (potato and chorizo) and carne adobado are well done also. Try the chili bull, a spicy beef taco, another specialty, and the castacan con queso , if you would like the pork belly with cheese. Service is friendly and helpful to have you navigate the menu. The location is a bit of a walk from the main square of Merida but worth it, easier if you have your own wheels- but worth the trip.

Lo Que Hay Cafe Which means "what there is" is an international vegan restaurant located inside the Hotel MedioMundo in Merida's historical center. We serve a daily special menu of three courses, plus a refillable drink, and a dessert, all inspired by a d
From the moment you enter the restaurant, it's hard not to be wowed by the surroundings. From an unsuspecting street door to a well decorated courtyard oasis.Whether you're a meat eater or a vegan, I would be surprised if you didn't find the food delicious. In fact, in my 2 week trip to Mexico, the meal I had here was undoubtedly my favourite. We went on an Italian themed night, and had a lime soup, lasagne and then a chocolate coconut mousse. The meal was tasty and the portions were of ample size. We didn't leave hungry! The staff were friendly, helpful, and informative about the food. The tables are located outside, so depending on the weather you may need to bring a light jacket in the evening. If I return to Merida, I will certainly make a reservation to go back!

DJ resident
Five of us were seated at a table that could easily have held ten. That combined with deafening music (the floor beneath my feet was vibrating) meant nobody could speak. My steak arrived, after a very long wait, absolutely raw. I cooked it to medium rare myself on the hot plate -- which I had to ask for. The waiter forgot one thing we asked for. The quality of the meat was inferior to what I had a year earlier. I would otherwise give them another shot, but ear splitting music at lunch time will keep me away. Too bad. I had hopes for this place.Hello! How are you? Sorry for the inconvenience you had in our branch. For us, the opinion of our guests is very important, thank you for writing us, your comments help us to improve. We want to know more in detail about the situation. We are going to follow up with the corresponding area, you help us with your full name, phone number and mail, please. Thank you. Regards

It's not bad, but expected way more from number one in merida, several places were way better. Not even pico de gallo at the tableThanks for your visit Matteo. Great to read you realized that is good and affordable, thats actually our approach. We especialized in yucatecan tacos and thats why we don't offer pico de gallo at the table. Instead we offer chiltomate, red onion and habanero (ingredients from our region).Anyway you can always ask the waiter or the taquero to serve you some pico de gallo.
