Things to do in Manteca
This is owned by the same family that runs Taqueria La Playa in Manteca. We ate for years at Taqueria Manteca before switching to the newly-opened Taqueria La Playa. The food is very good and the inside decor is fun. They took the shield off the salsa bar, so hopefully no one is sick the day you go in. I still go here when I'm getting my oil changed across the parking lot and enjoy it every time.

This taqueria was recommended by some locals, and boy are we glad we listened to them. We had a good variety of dishes -- burrito carnitas, burrito pollo, quesadilla, camaron, taco asada, and a cheese quesadilla. All of that with a couple of drinks for just over $30. The food was great. The inside and outside seating were comfortable (a bit chilly outside the day we came). We got there just before noon and it was pretty quiet but quite busy as it got past noon. CASH ONLY.

Affordable food, good service. I like the menu, it has several options. And often they have promotions.

This is not a typical Mexican restaurant. The tacos are different and one item is from Venezuela. This is our 2nd visit and everything has been great. Inexpensive as well. Saying itâs one of Mantecaâs best restaurant isnât saying much but this place is really good.

I was traveling south from Seattle to Exeter to DJ a party. It was about noon on Cinco De Mayo and I ran across this restaurant located in what appears to be a brand new mall. Nice looking frontage on the outside (see pictures) and the interior decoration was very inviting. The restaurant was pretty empty yet but there are a lot of tables and a nice looking bar area. I was seated immediately and given a menu. I am a fajita nut so I tend to gauge the authenticity of the food by the flavor of the spices of the meat, and how sizzling they are. The salsa and chips were fresh and delicious. I especially liked the guacamole. Flavorful and creamy and just enough spice. The tortillas (flour) are made fresh on site, were hot and tender. Lots of red, green sand yellow bell slices. I always order mine without onions. The rice was fluffy and the refried beans a perfect consistency. All in all a great meal and a very reasonable price. Add that all together with a friendly, efficient wait staff and you have a winning combination. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

Our out-of-town family members were visiting and we had 18 family members that wanted to go to dinner together on their last night in town. I don't think they take reservations. It was a Wednesday, so Chili's was not super busy, but we "called ahead" a little over an hour prior to arrival, to give the manager "heads-up" that a large party was planning to come in at 6:00 PM. When we got there the tables were set up and ready for us to all sit together. Booster seats were provided for the "little one's". The servers were very pleasant and made sure our beverages were re-filled and our needs were taken care of. With such a large group, they did extremely well in keeping track of all the assorted orders and "special" requests. The food was wonderful, as usual. We owe Chili's and it's employees a BIG THANK YOU -- for helping to make our family dinner a wonderful night for us all to remember.

When the owner is there he is there to greet you when you walk in. He likes to give regulars a nickname. And he remembers them! The food Is good and the people that work there have are always friendly. I love the chips and salsa! They really enjoy kids and the restraunt is very family friendly.

Las Casuelas has a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. They made sure we had everything we needed. We have been here many times and have always enjoyed the food. My usual is enchiladas with green sauce. I tried something new this time. I donât remember what it was called, but it came in a raised lava rock bowl that sizzled the whole time I was eating it! The flavor was wonderful!

This has been our go to restaurant for many years every Sunday. Staff has been okay lately. Sometimes they mess up on our order but overall what keeps us coming back is the food. My go to are the enchiladas with red sauce and sometimes a shrimp burrito. Definitely a restaurant to try.
