There are two restaurants in Macomb - this one, and Guadalajara on the west end. I much prefer Guadalajara for the outstanding service you receive. Ranch (this place) has a good atmosphere with colorful chairs and tables, and the food can be good. BUT. Don't expect the management or server to be friendly. The service is much slower than at Guadalajara. Our cheese sauce at our recent visit (I try to go here) was watery. We sat in a section with hardly any light - seriously had to strain to see the menu. It's because a row of lights are just off, and every other bulb in the ceiling fans are out. They don't say thank you when you pay. Same lackluster experience every time I go (several times a year). I hate this place.
El Jarochito does not look great from outside. It is one of those places where the room is adapted to become an ethnic restaurant - some pictures here and some big hats there. The service sometimes becomes a little chaotic, but, most of the time, they are quick in the service. The food however is excellent. It looks and tastes like authentic Mexican cuisine, without too much worry to adapt to american expectations. I recommend it!

Today, of all days, I decided to stop to "treat" myself after a full morning of teaching 3rd graders. Today, in our little neck of the woods, was in the throes of some of the worst frigid weather this area has seen...soo time for a treat!I like the Taco Bell in Macomb. I might go there 3-4 times per year but I know I will not be disappointed. The service is consistently fast, orders are fulfilled correctly, they have a $1 menu and best of all, sodas for seniors are......FREE!Today, on the polar vortex arctic blast day, I felt the warmth from all of the employees, genuinely focused on service. Thank you, Taco Bell. Keep it up!
