Chips although warm, taste like they came from a bag.Carnitas plate with a side of abodigas soup and corn tortillas: I get flour tortillas nd they don't bring the abondigas.Carnitas is bland and lacks flavor.Rice is bland and lacks flavor.Beans are bland and lacks flavor.Pico de Gallo is bland and lacks flavor. The is the first time I've had bad-really poor Mexican food!

We could not have been happier to have found Don Gus! We were visiting the area from out of town, hungry, and how very lucky we were! We were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the ownerâs daughter. The decor was very pleasant. Our servers were family members too. Our guacamole was prepared table side on a colorful serape-draped cart. It was so fresh! My husband and I both had steak fajita salad and it arrived on a cart also, sizzling and with such an enticing aroma as the meat was mixed into the salad and dressed. The flavor did not disappoint - it was scrumptious! And another fabulous component of our wonderful lunch at Don Gus â a serenade by the lovely and talented Dueto Alanniz! Their harmonic voices and warm smiles together with live guitar music truly made a lunch we will not soon forget! (We were told they play every Sunday afternoon.) GRACIAS to the Don Gus family for such a wonderful meal and experience!

We came for lunch and ordered a shrimp burrito and a bowl of albondigas soup. The filling of the shrimp burrito was really soupy with about 6 pieces of shrimp and not much flavor. The albondigas soup was very salty and I usually love all things salty, but even I couldn't finish the soup. On the positive side, the service was good, as was the chips and salsa.

I went for a wedding and reception this year. It was in the Banquet Room. The restroom is absolutely filthy disgusting. The baseboards are black not because they are painted black but because they are dirty. There was a water leak from the water pipe connected to the toilet water tank and they put a bucket to catch the drip. The sink looked like it has never been cleaned for a year. The floor is screaming, "Mop me!". If the restroom is looking like that, what one expects of their kitchen. Am wondering how may sanitation citations this restaurant have received. No, am not a fan.

Rusten House has had a loyal following for years. They have the albondigas soup my husband loves and hard shell tacos with either ground beef like my husband likes, or carne asada which is my preference. All the usual other stuff, burritos, enchiladas, chile relents. Reasonable prices. Give 'em a try!

I have grown up in the Antelope Valley and I just recently found this little gem in Antelope Acres. The service is great, the food is very authentic and very good. They just recently moved into their new building. This is now my favorite Mexican Restaurant in the Antelope Valley.
