We haven't been to this Chili's in awhile and decided to stop in while out shopping. I have to commend the waitress that we had, she was very friendly and helpful but that doesn't make up for the food. I ordered a hamburger which is usually good but I was disappointed. I ordered a medium well burger and it came out really pink in the middle. She took it back to cook it longer since it was way too pink for me. What I got back was a charred burger that was tough. I was going to order the broccoli to go with my burger but they were out! When something like that is on the menu how can you run out of it?I ordered the fries which come with the burger and when they came out they were cold. I told the waitress and she took them back and brought me another batch but they were limp, I wondered if they just stuck them back in the fryer and fried the cold ones. Definitely limp and greasy so I didn't eat but 1.My husband ordered the ribs which he said was very good. Maybe it was an off night but I was definitely disappointed in my food.Again the waitress was very on top of things and she can't be faulted for the kitchen so I give her an A+.We will try Chili's again to see if this was a fluke this time.
I've done a lot of Chipotle and Freebirds and these establishments are how I compare this location. The burritos have good ingredients but the cold food items really chill the temperature of the burrito. My family also got the quesadillas and those were very good! If you need a burrito this place is average but if there is a Chipotle nearby, that would be my primary choice. The atmosphere is fun and the staff are kind and helpful.
I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the past few months and it is far and away the best Mexican restaurant in Hammond. They have a fresh and different take on the standard Mexican fare. The service is prompt and courteous and the food is always hot. The taquitos Mexicanos is outstanding with the shredded beef and the shrimp chimichangas have a delightful crunchy shell that does not get soggy within a few minutes of being served. The guacamole is the best I've tasted in any restaurant with the hints of lemon and garlic... present but not overpowering. My companion is a beer drinker and loves the Victoria beer that, apparently, only this restaurant serves. For dessert, I highly recommend the flan. The only unfortunate issue with this restaurant is it's location. No restaurant has survived there since Shoney's closed. I urge everyone to make the effort to visit this restaurant. Let's not let this one slip away.

Sarita's is the best Mexican food in the Hammond area. You always get plenty of food. The prices are very reasonable. The food is never over spiced, it has just the right blend. The worst part of eating here, is deciding what to order. Everything is excellent. Everything is fresh. Margaritas are good too.

This place is close to our house and is therefore convenient. The fare is good although not distinguishing. The prices are reasonable. They do have outdoor seating options, and the restaurant is yet another entry to the tex-mex/mex fare in Hammond, Louisiana. Good value for the money, and you don't have to drive too far to get to it. The staff is largely Hispanic and does carry credibility to the cuisine offered

Kinda like fast food Mexican style. I had a beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas. Normally this comes out in a sizzling platter. Not here. Also, just a few shreds of chicken and beef. The shrimp were soft and mushy too.

I was quite pleasantly surprised at the quality of my dish here -- fish tacos -- especially since I was just traveling quickly through after a trip to Mexico itself. (I can never get enough Mexican food!). A friend had a burrito and wasn't quite as impressed, until he cut up some of the cooked jalapeño that had been served with my tacos at which point his opinion shifted into the more positive realm. So just be sure to ask for some extra punch if you need it. It's a small corner restaurant, cefe-style, on a corner in downtown Hammond. Much more casual than the bigger Mexican restaurants in town...quick and friendly service on the night I was there despite there being a huge number of kids and families outside the door for an early trick-or-treat event. I'd definitely go again.

"This place is temporarily closed."
We have eaten here several times during the week since they offer daily specials:Monday: Taco Salad for $5.99 Tuesdays: $.99 Taco - Ground Beef & Shredded Chicken, $2 Taco - Barbacoa, Al Pastor, Carnitas, Carne Asada, Fish, Grilled Shrimp, Grilled Chicken, SteakWednesday: Fajitas for 2 for $20 Thursday: College Night - $4 margaritasFriday: $5 Small Bloody MarySaturday: Margarita pitchers Sunday: Lunch Menu & Margarita pitchersThe food is always fresh and tasty. Service can be spotty, there is a certain waitress we try not to sit at her table because she seems to space out that she has customers to wait on, but for the most part, all the other wait staff are very friendly and helpful. My favorite meal there is the Monterrey Lunch/Dinner. I order the grilled shrimp, it comes with rice and steamed vegetables (I always ask them just for the broccoli and carrots and so far they have been very accommodating since I don't care for the other vegetables in the medley). This is a light meal and delicious. I would highly recommend giving this a try. It is not as noisy as some of the other Mexican restaurants around which we enjoy.
