Sofia's Mexican Restaurant

Stopped for lunch and found a small Mexican style restaurant that was almost full. Most patrons appeared to be blue collar workers looking for hearty meals at a reasonable price. This not fine dining but the food we had was very good and enough of it at very good price. Would we stop here for a quick lunch - yes, for a date on Valentines day -no.There is nothing sophisticated about the place or the workers but it felt comfortable to be there.

Don't let exterior fool you. Very good meal and I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food. Very large portions, seasoned well and I found to be very fresh. Quite a wide selection of things, not many "gringo" options but give it a try.

I ordered a Mexican Pizza. The description sounded good, something that could be eaten on the go, in the car. After 20 minutes, the pizza came out in a box and put in a bag. When I opened the box in the car, the pizza was a mess, inedible. The box lid had been smashed into the pizza, the pizza crust was thin tortillas which were impossible to pick up. Most of the topping was on the box lid and the remaining mess looked more like bad nachos.I just threw the whole disaster away.
